Chapter 72: Assembly

My arm ached from being held over my head, gripped tightly in Xeoniteridone's grasp.

"Behold!" His voice carried on a wave of magic over the roaring throng of demons. "Your Ruler is among us!"

Detachment made it difficult to process the dimness I felt from the crowd, the quiet of their minds, though their voices

were loud and growing louder by the moment as they celebrated my arrival. How odd, their false passion, controlled by

nectar and their sorcery through the Planeless leader's grasp on them, as tight a hold as he had on me.

The last day had been a whirlwind tour of all the planes, carried down the devouring black tunnels of sorcery travel,

myself pinned to Xeoniteridone's side, a proudly displayed trophy. I took the time to observe, held myself still and

quiet, though I knew I could destroy him at any moment I chose. A small part of me knew I should feel excitement at the

fact, but I couldn't muster emotion, not yet. If ever again.
