Chapter 67: The Castle Thirteen weeks later...

My eyes flash open, and I jerk, startled. My body was only inches away from slamming onto cold, hard pavement. I push up on my elbows, unaware of my surroundings and glance over my shoulder. Dominic is sound asleep beside me, peaceful and quiet as sweet reality rushes back in. I close my eyes and sigh, wiping away the sweat from my forehead, the rapid thud of my heart still pounding in my ears.

Stupid dream.

A twinge of jealousy washes over me as I glance back at my husband. I haven't slept well for weeks. The doctors say it's from all the pregnancy hormones and to expect changes in my sleeping habits. But, they failed to mention anything about having crazy, vivid dreams.

A slight fluttering in my belly captures my attention, and I clutch my stomach, unable to feel the movement with my hands. It's been going on for a few days, but I haven't said anything to Dominic. It could be nothing. The baby isn't big enough. It's too early.
