Samuel and Laila developed their own form of language by their first birthday; most noticeably through back and forth babble and hand play mannerisms. By the time they reached kindergarten age, Dominic and I were certain the twins could communicate telepathically, long stares and simultaneously bursting into laughter being a dead giveaway.
Fast-forward to now, at the age of ten. While Samuel and Laila continue to have similar likes, personality wise, they couldn't be more opposite.
Samuel is restless and easily distracted, intelligent and courageous. Laila tends to be more emotional, using her instincts as a guide is extremely clever and has a deep passion for reading.
Both share a love of adventure. A couple times a week, Dominic and I take them to the surrounding forest just outside the castle walls. There, we can picnic while the children fish or swim in a choice of many ponds or rocky streams. They can even hike and explore along a variety of wooded trails.
