"We should bring in Trev tonight, as soon as possible," insisted Ira. "Once he performs his duties, the next step we take will be determined by the information we receive."
"How do we act on that information, Moana? How many men will we need, what resources will be required, and can we keep this affair out of public scrutiny?"
Ira remained silent as he digested various options. He had no interest in finding Dick; he didn't care if the man disappeared for ever; however, the Commissioner thought differently and wanted him found. But they still needed to end this Russian problem and deal with those responsible for committing the murders. He thought of Mrs Fowler and her stolen eggs.
"Can you handle this alone, Moana, or do you need others to help you?"
"I would prefer to work alone, at least until we have more information. I can do more without having to worry about the safety of others, or having them slow me down and restrict my actions, sir."
