Chapter Four:

Slamming the sliding door open I kicked off my shoes angrily before slamming the door shut so hard that dust came from the ceiling. I groaned loudly to myself and grabbed a handful of my now short black hair to calm down.

Seeing the color I suddenly became disgusted with myself and felt angry tears welling up in my eyes as I tugged on it roughly. I closed my eyes quickly while tilting my head back to take a deep breath. I stayed like that for a few minutes angry with myself.

'I'm showing the one thing I can't fucking stand!'

"Zumi" Kisuke called suddenly from somewhere in the room. Inwardly I wanted to smile at the old petname he called me; he only did when he knew I was upset. But right now I just couldn't.

"Zumi calm down, I could feel your reiatsu spike earlier from here." He commanded quietly.

I sighed heavily before opening my eyes meeting his. "It wasn't a major spike, don't exaggerate; I just lost my temper for a mere moment." I rolled my eyes before making my way completely into the room. He waved his fan in front of his face blocking his lips from my view. But I guessed he was most likely frowning at my reason.

"Who is this idiotic female shinigami?" I demanded glaring into his eyes.

He never could deny me information when I was angry. He always blames it on how I supposedly resemble my grandfather when I'm upset.

He quickly looked away from my piercing eyes and sighed heavily. I smirked inwardly knowing I had won.

"Rukia is a very skilled young Shinigami, I've known her for quite some time now." He said before meeting my eyes again. My glare became more harsh and I could feel my rage building.

"You have known her for awhile?" I asked accusingly with a raised eyebrow.

He uncovered his mouth and began to say something but I cut him off.

"You've had contact with the soul society and did not tell me about it?" My voice was trembling, my body was trembling, hell my soul was trembling at how angry I was. "You've had contact with my home and kept it to yourself!?" I felt my hair start to levitate around my shoulders and my gigai suddenly felt as uncomfortable as it was when I had first stepped into it eight years ago.

I could feel my control over my reiatsu become more and more unsteady. My power was leaking out causing sweat to roll down Kisuke's neck. Suddenly both Jinta and the old man came crawling on their hands and knees to face me; my spiritual energy was so strong they couldn't even stand. The worst part was this wasn't even my full reiatsu being released.

"I-Izumi control y-yourself." Old man groaned out in pain. Before falling flat on his stomach.

"Y-yea Umi... Ururu can't even m-move from s-storage p-pleas-e..." Jinta tried to force out calling his petname for me from when he was younger. My heart ached at the image of her crumbled on the floor not being able to move. I closed my eyes tightly trying to will myself to calm down.

I sucked in a breath calming my heart, then another listening to the ringing in my ears fade, and another feeling my hair fall back to my shoulders, I took another hearing them sigh in relief, then I took a final deep breath hearing them come forward; only then did I open my eyes.

"How dare you Kisuke Urahara." He flinched when I said his full name but I continued on with my lecture.

"I have been searching for a way to return to my home for years and you've claimed to assist me in that quest." My voice cracked which caught his attention and brought him back from his far off look. He opened his mouth to say something but I continued on even as I felt tears well up in my eyes from the betrayal.

"Yet here you are having a connection with the one place I want to return back to."

"Zumi I-" he started but was soon cut off by the door being flung open and in the door way stood the reason I was here in the first place. The person who came from the very place I long to be.

She appeared to be gasping for air as if she had run three miles straight. She tilted her head up with sweat dripping from her forehead and glared into the room till her gaze met with my now hardened glare. No tears were present nor ever seemed to even be there as I glared into her eyes.

"Ah! Miss. Rukia. What can I do for-" Kisuke started acting like his non serious self but she cut him off.

"You!" She marched towards me and attempted to grab my collar but unfortunately for her I am much taller and much, much faster.

"Do not touch me." I growled in her face twisting her wrist bringing her entire arm behind her back causing her to gasp in pain and lean forwards slightly.

"H-how did you-" before she could even finish I shoved her face first into the wooden floor.

"Now you listen here and you listen real fucking good little girl." She twisted around and sat on the floor starring at me while I crouched in front of her face.

"I have lived about nine of your measly lifetimes and have lived through more shit then you could ever imagine. You will respect me and you will know your place when in my presence, you are nothing in my eyes." I spat at her watching as her eyes widen and she seems slightly frightened. I suddenly felt a familiar hand on my shoulder and knew who it was without even looking.

"I thought you would still be at the cemetery with everyone else." I sighed before standing up and facing the boy. He looked at me sympathetically and opened his mouth to say something but was cut off.

"I-Ichigo!" Rukia called from the floor. "You can't trust her! She's not who you think she is!" She cried catching my attention.

My eyes snapped back to her , but the strangest thing happened. I suddenly didn't even feel angry anymore. Just defeated and tired.

'Ichi always has this effect on me.' I just sighed heavily and rubbed my aching head.

"Rukia enough. I've known Izumi since I was little. I've also known about her situation for as long as I can remember." Ichigo glared down at her and pulled me into a protective hug.

"H-huh!? Situation?!" She screeched unattractively.

"Banishment." I whispered feeling my wound on my shoulder ache at just the thought of that day.

"I don't understand." She muttered to herself. "No one has been banished in almost 500 years!" She exclaimed.

'So gramps stopped banishing people after me...'

"My name is Izumi Yamamoto, and I am the granddaughter of the Captain Commander." I said confidently but wouldn't dare utter his name. It's too painful.

Her eyes widened. "That's impossible!"
