Final Exams

The day of the final exams.

"Ah, have you studied?" (Well, I have.)

"No, I didn't study that much..." (I just did it for 3 straight nights.)

"Me too!" (I did it for a month.)

"Listen, I'll probably get bad scores today." (Four or five points from perfecting the exam.)

"My expectations are also low." (One or two points from perfecting the exam.)

As the class discussed the exam with each other, Lan Xiang arrived in the classroom, his face looking sleepy as hell.

As soon as he made it to his chair, he dumped his bag beside his chair and buried his head into his arms to sleep.

"...This is Trash Xiang's judgment day, and he's that easy going?"

"What do you mean judgment day? He's already lost, there's no judgment."

"Judging by how he looks, he probably studied his ass off last night."

"He still won't pass in anything other than precal."

"That was only a fluke."

Ever since the precal incident, the students didn't treat Lan Xiang like dead air anymore. Rather, they actively scorned him as trash. Maybe it was because they saw him as a threat now that he had shown his prowess in one subject.

Even though they were convinced that he could only be good at precal, and that one subject only, who knew? If he somehow managed to study himself to a position further than them in precal, who could tell if he didn't do so with the other subjects as well?

Of course, Lu Xifa and the others almost laughed their asses off when they heard their classmates diss Lan Xiang.

They had seen his prowess in full force the other day, with them being taught by him all throughout the day, across all subjects. They were also impressed when he caught the cockroach by its antennae and threw it out the window.

And so, the four girls laid their heads back, waiting for the show to happen.

While the class was fervently rereading their study material, the door opened, and in came their proctor for the day, holding up a stack of papers. He panted as he placed the stack down on the desk.

The proctor was a familiar face. It was none other than their class adviser!

"Okay, class, settle down. Settle down, you brats!"

The whole class turned quiet, with the exception of Lan Xiang's snoring.

A vein popped out of the proctor's forehead. This little...! After these exams, I don't need to see him ever again! He relieved himself with that statement.

"Someone... please wake Student Lan up."

The student beside Lan Xiang did the usual and shook his shoulders.

Lan Xiang sprang up, his eyes barely open. "Huh? W, what happened? Is the exams over?"

"..."

After doing the morning formalities, the proctor started to pass the papers to the students in front, who then passed it behind them, and so on and so forth.

"The test starts now. You have 45 minutes to complete it."

Lan Xiang took a lazy glance at the whole paper and yawned. It was easy as hell.

The proctor paid special attention to Lan Xiang, trying to find an opportunity to reprimand him for something. What if he was caught looking at the other papers? Even for a split second, it would give him license to scold him!

Haha!

And so, his gaze was glued to Lan Xiang.

Lan Xiang felt a shiver run down his spine. "It seems like someone is closely watching me..."

He took out his pen and wrote on the paper.

The whole classroom was filled with noises of writing. Some tapped their pens on their foreheads, some tapped their feet on the floor, some rustled their hair, et cetera.

The clock ticked every second as the time for them to complete their task got shorter and shorter. With all of the students laser-focused on the test, none of them made any sound.

A student in the back of the class, Jin Huang, found himself confounded by one of the questions. He scratched the back of his head. "Maybe... I can look at someone else's paper."

He peeked at the proctor. He doesn't seem to be scanning over the whole class... Just Lan Xiang? Whatever.

He took a look at the paper of the student beside him, taking extra caution not to move anything else but his eyes.

"Ah, I still can't see it."

With another peek at the proctor, who seemed to still not be paying attention to anyone else other than Lan Xiang, Jin Huang raised his body ever so slightly and leaned towards the student.

"So close...!"

Jin Huang took one last glance at the proctor.

"Ah, fuck it! Here goes nothing!"

He stretched himself to his limits, looking at the paper of the one beside him!

The student beside him long noticed his classmate trying to read his answers, but he just ignored it. Now that he was so blatantly cheating, the student couldn't help but admire Jin Huang's courage and just faced the test paper towards him.

Jin Huang was pleasantly surprised by the sudden windfall. He sat back on his seat and started reading and writing as fast as he could.

The other students hissed, noticing Jin Huang's bold and successful attempt at cheating. He didn't get caught by the proctor, so could we do it too...?

Not long after, multiple students were blatantly copying each other's answers, all the while the proctor stared at Lan Xiang and Lan Xiang only.

The four girls, all of which received Lan Xiang's tutoring, didn't feel the need to cheat as they thought they could ace the test easily without doing so.

The established geniuses in the room, specifically, Ren Weiwei and Lu Xifa, were the main targets for the cheaters to copy from. Other than them, no one could consistently get high scores in tests. This was Class D, after all.

Of course, they both defended their papers and glared at the ones who tried to read their answers, their defense infallible. With no choice, they could only turn to one another's unreliable answers.

Lan Xiang just continued writing on his papers peacefully and without stopping.

The proctor sneered. He must be writing random stuff without thinking about what he's actually putting on the paper.

When the clock's small hand cycled around for the twentieth time, Lan Xiang let out a whistle. He checked his answers with a glance and smiled.

He got into a comfortable position and buried his head into his arms.

The proctor was speechless at Lan Xiang's actions. What, that's it? We're not even halfway through the time limit and you give up?

Grr, but he might only be pretending to have given up. When my attention sways from him, he might take a peek at someone else's paper! I won't let that happen!

The class adviser continued staring at Lan Xiang, unaware of the flagrant cheating of the rest of the class.
