Teleportation Training

"Well, since I can't actually do anything about that right now, might as well..."

Lan Xiang looked outside his window. The moon glowed a soft blue as it hovered to the center of the dark night sky. He nodded in satisfaction as he sprang up from his bed.

He opened the window and jumped out, landing in the backyard.

"Here should be fine."

Lan Xiang intended to practice the notes Lu Xifa wrote about teleportation.

"I should upgrade it first."

Teleportation Notes Revised Ver.

Gold level technique

Sell value: 400 t-pts.

"Now it's as good! Nice." Lan Xiang nodded. He really appreciated the system at that moment.

He closed his eyes and thought of a place, a place he had vivid memories of. One must remember every detail, every corner and every dent in the place they wanted to go to in order to use the teleportation skill.

Luckily, Lan Xiang had near photographic memory, so it was a breeze for him to think of his room. "Huh, now that I think about it, Xifa has an amazing memory."

He directed his qi towards the tip of his fingers. According to the manual, he should tear in the air a lone line.

Lan Xiang swiped his hand downwards. A black line appeared, made slightly bluish by the moon.

"Is this a tear? How do I open it?"

He walked around the line, examining it. The line didn't seem to be a three-dimensional figure. Rather, it looked more like a drawing, which baffled Lan Xiang. How come a two-dimensional line could exist in the real world? Even a thin piece of paper has a width!

He reached his fingers out to touch it. It seemed to be elastic, or at least malleable. When he pushed it, it bounced back to its original position, like a string on a guitar. However, there was no sound to be heard.

"The hell is this? This is just a line."

In the end, he retracted his qi, making the line disappear.

"Once more... Humph!"

He swiped the air with more aggression this time. The line appeared, but it was still as still as the last one.

"Again!"

"Again!"

"Again!"

"Again..."

Slowly but surely, the moon traveled around the sky. Eventually, the thought of what time it was and how long it would take to finish phased out of Lan Xiang's mind.

The sun's rays touched upon Lan Xiang's skin as it rose, glistening with beads of sweat. The moon was already nowhere to be found.

Xie Jian leaned her head on her palm as she watched through the window. She woke up at dawn. "He's been doing this through the night, isn't he tired yet?"

She decided to cook him some food, as to help him regain his energy. With a hum, she skipped to the kitchen.

Lan Xiang breathed heavily as he wiped his sweat off using his shirt. He realized that it was also wet and took it off, throwing it onto the grass.

"Hah... This is harder than I thought it would be. Extremely fast practicing speed my ass... One more time!"

He swiped his hand downwards one more time. This time, a subtle glow leaked from in between the line, as if it was trying to escape.

"Huh? Th, there's something! Yes!" Lan Xiang pumped his arm in joy. He was making progress after all! He was beginning to think that he was approaching it the wrong way, turns out he hadn't done it enough yet!

He tried to stick his finger through the small opening, but it couldn't go through. It seemed less like the opening was too small, it was more so the that the hole actively resisted his finger.

"I guess it's a safety precaution? Ah, many Lus were sacrificed for this technique..." He plucked a blade of grass from the ground and snuck it through, bending it sideways.

"It disappeared! If this worked correctly, there should be grass in my room."

The black line disappeared as Lan Xiang rushed to his room. When he opened the door, he examined every nook and cranny of his room to see if he could find the grass. He even employed the use of the All-seeing Eye!

"Oh, you're here! I brought you something to eat." Xie Jian smiled as she handed Lan Xiang a tray of breakfast foods.

Lan Xiang sighed as he stopped looking for the grass. He couldn't just ignore Xie Jian. Besides, it seemed like it wasn't in his room after all.

He took the tray and patted Xie Jian on her head. "Thanks, Jian'er. I'm starving!"

"Hey, the other half of the tray is mine!" Xie Jian took the bowl of cereal and sat beside Lan Xiang on his bed.

"Can't we just eat downstairs?"

"It feels more intimate this way..."

All of a sudden, a black line slowly drew itself in midair.

Xie Jian and Lan Xiang turned silent.

The line stopped extending downwards. Something snuck through the middle of the line. On a closer look, it was a blade of grass.

The grass spewed out of the line, almost as if it was spit out. Soon after, the line disappeared.

The blade of grass slowed down and floated in the air, before landing in Xie Jian's bowl of cereal.

"..."

Lan Xiang suppressed his laughter. "Let's just eat downstairs."

Xie Jian agreed, still having no idea what the hell just happened.

Meanwhile, Lan Xiang contemplated. "Why was it delayed? Did it end up stuck in a space traffic jam? The speed is supposed to be extremely high as well..."

That moment, Lan Xiang lamented his low talent.

"Can I make something like a talent improvement technique? Hmm..."
