Baa: Prologue

Dear Diary,

Change is scary. Many people don't like it. Some even try to stop it or refuse to acknowledge its presence. Not me, I live for change, but while I enjoy change, I can still recognize the beauty of repetition and patterns. They keep us grounded, they give us something to go back too if the change becomes too much. They give us something to learn from and to teach others. You can't teach if everything is always changing. But as much as I live for change, I would never be able to predict the change that would come on my 21st birthday. I never was normal. As a kid, I would always go off and do weird things. I would talk to animals, try to behave like them, and would even imitate their sounds. I got picked on as a kid, and never felt like I belonged. But one magical night, on wish and one brilliantly shining star would change that all forever.
