Chapter Fourteen

I woke up to see a cloudy, gray, sky above me. There was water all around me and every few moments there was pressure on my back as if someone was pushing on it gently. I blinked, looking around seeing that I was in the ocean. I moved from my floating position, blinking the water from my eyes. There was a boat nearby.

"Blake?" A deep voice spoke. I turned to see Jason treading water next to me. "H-how do you feel?"

"Better... I think. I don't hurt anymore. What happened?" I tried to think about how I got here.

"I took your pain away so that you could calm down. You were in a lot of pain that even I had trouble managing." He explained. "We brought you here to see if it would help. You've been out for two hours."

"You took my pain? How?" I looked at him confused.

"It's an ability that I have. I can take pain from people and sea life and bare it myself." He replied. He looked to the boat and as I studied it, I realized that it was my uncle's boat that he used for fishing. We went around the back, pulling ourselves up. Jason sat on the little platform while I just leaned on it with the bottom half of my body, my blue and purple tail, in the water.

"Aunt? Uncle!" I called then listened. I could hear footsteps coming from below until they came up onto the deck. My aunt and uncle stared at me. I bent my knees so that the end part of my tail poked out of the water. "Pretty neat, right?" I smiled.

"Beautiful." My aunt exhaled deeply. I changed my tail so that I had legs instead, seeing their eyes widen.

"That's amazing." Uncle laughed. I felt myself frown as I thought.

"D... did I hurt anyone?" I looked at the three of them.

"No, Sweetheart." My aunt came to Jason and I, kneeling down. "We were very worried about you though."

"I'm sorry."

"Jason, here, took care of you. We are very lucky to have him." Uncle nodded. "He's a good man." I bit my lip, blushing as I glanced over to Jason. He just sat with his back against the side of the boat on the platform, grinning like a fool. He was so attractive.

"One moment." I pushed myself off the boat platform and went under water. "Oh my goodness! They like him! It's so embarrassing and he's so hot and I love him." I rambled under the water. I was a good several feet under water. I let out a squeal then swam back up.

"Sorry about that."

"I didn't know I was SO hot." Jason teased. I grabbed his shirt, tugging him closer so our faces were close.

"Not funny." I tried to hold a straight face. He leaned forward more, falling into the water. He pulled me under as he sank to the bottom. I had my knees on his chest as he touched the sand floor. We weren't incredibly deep in the water and could see the light easily above the water. The sun was coming out. "You aren't supposed to eavesdrop."

"I was dropping no eaves." He smirked. He looked so perfect. Perfect teeth, perfect black hair that floated around his head, perfect body, perfect personality. Perfect everything. I leaned down, pressing my lips against his his. I felt sand particles touch my arms. My legs shifted to his sides as he pulled me closer.

"Hey!" My aunt's voice muffled voice yelled from the surface. A muffled splash followed. "HEY!" I looked up to see my aunt splashing from the boat. I giggled, swimming up to the surface. I swam fast, turning my legs into my tail. I burst out of the water with my hands up. Water splashed up around me like little fountains then I dived back in. When I surfaced again, my aunt and uncle were awestruck.

"Hey! Blake, come here." She blinked, seeming annoyed. I swam over, wondering what I did wrong. "You're still a minor. So, no kissing! Got it?" She crossed her arms. I thought for a moment.

"I'll be 18 tomorrow." I realized.

"Until then, no kissing adults." She stated. Jason surfaced next to me as if he was innocent. He was only three months older than me, but it seemed to bother my aunt. He grabbed my hips, pulling me under the water again. I squealed, facing him. I smiled, gazing into his golden eyes. My heart began to beat hard against his chest and I wondered if he could feel it. I could feel myself breathing hard and suddenly, I felt scared. I pulled away, swimming back.

"Blake." He grabbed my hand gently. "What's wrong?"

"I just.... I feel this thing about you and I'm scared because I don't want to lose you. I don't know how to handle it." I blushed, looking at the fish that circled us.

"You feel a... thing? That you're... afraid of...?" He looked at me confused. "What do you mean?"

"N-nothing." I turned, but he pulled me back.

"What do you mean? Don't be afraid to tell me." His eyes were soft. I spun around to face him.

"I love you, okay?!" I nearly yelled. "And I'm scared because I don't EVER want to lose you!" He stared at me with a blank face. I sighed, trying to pull away. He didn't release me, just yanked me back causing me to slam into his body. He held me close, kissing me passionately. I kissed him back, touching his face with one hand. He pulled back slightly, looking into my eyes.

"I love you, too." He breathed. A shock wave erupted from us, little lights appearing all around. I smiled as we floated there in each others arms.
