Chapter 4 Grade School Graduation

Just this year, Hans Valentin transferred in their school and from the first day she met him, her eyes were fixed on him. Her diary is was just all about him everyday.

Who doesn't have diary?

Worse, she even have a scrapbook just about her Prince Charming. She collected magazines, newspapers wherein the Mayor's family was featured and she cut out Hans' photo. She followed him on his Instagram, Facebook and twitter, then downloaded his photos, printed it and paste it in her scrapbook along with her cut-out photos so it would look like they were together.

"Veronica! make it faster, we will be late", said her mom.

Today is their graduation ceremony. She woke up very early to rehearse her speech one last time. Yes you heard it right, a 'speech' , she will be delivering a valedictory address. Yesterday, she had her total make-over done in the salon. Her hair was curled and the blonde color makes her look like a walking barbie doll.

"Almost done, mom", she shouted from her room. The truth is that she had everything ready three hours ago. She just can't get off her eyes on herself on the mirror trying to check every details of her dress and practicing on how she's going to congratulate Hans later.

"You are going to break the mirror already", said Joshua who appeared from behind.

He was wearing a blue tux and his hair was neatly groomed. He is obviously handsome no wonder he's always the hot topic among girls aside from Hans.

"My goodness, you startled me. How long have you been watching me you moron?, says the shy Vee.

"Not long, I just saw you said, 'Hi Hans congratulations, you look good. Ah no! No! No! I'm too obvious.', he said mimicking Vee.

She looked at him in a beast mode and kicked him in his butt like a karate kid. "I hate you! I hate you! I hate you!", they raced out of her room while Joshua was laughing deviously.

They went to the school, while her mother was scolding them for being so slow. When they arrived at the hall, they went to their designated seat. Hans was just a seat away from her since they were in an alphabetical order by surname. They're supposed to be sitting next to each other if not for Steph.

Stephanie Warren is her cousin, the daughter of her father's younger brother. They have the same surname but since her first name is Veronica so Steph comes first and sit besides Hans. Behind them was their escort, and hers was her mom.

Joshua Anderson was in the front row. She caught him sneaks on them from time to time and when their eyes met he will make face and say something she could not understand. She did not mind him. Her father was Joshua's escort because his parents had an important business trip and they did not make it today.

Steph and Hans were talking about something she's not sure what, they were laughing and she's jealous. She wanted to join with their conversation, but she feels out of place because Steph was slightly leaning on him while looking down on the phone that he was holding. They were watching something funny.

When the boring speech of the principal was done, she was called to the stage for her valedictory address. She stoop up and walked gracefully towards the podium. She was upset because of Stephanie's demeanour but she smiled sweetly because she knew that all eyes are on her. This is her moment to get the attention of her Prince Charming stolen by her very own cousin.

She delivers her speech successfully; her mother was crying, some parents were also emotional which she thought of as an exaggeration. Well her mother cries all the time over a very little thing, it is expected of her.

When the director announced them as graduates, everyone shouted in joy and threw their graduation hat on the air. Steph hugged and congratulated her. She hugged and greeted her too.

Steph was her classmate since first grade and they also grow up together. Sometimes Steph could sleep over their house, but she's never allowed to spend a night in Steph's house and they only hangout every weekend because their house was a bit far.

"Congrats Vee, you are so awesome", Hans greeted her. "There will be a party after this in our house, please be present", Hans invited giving emphasis to his last three words.

Vee understand what he meant by stressing out to be present because everyone knows she's not allowed to party.

"Thank you, Hans, Congratulations! you are awesome too. But my parents prepare a small celebration for me also, I don't think I can go", she said.

She knew that its not a small celebration, but it will be like a community party because you know her parents are church's leaders. All their neighbours are going to be in their house, her granny's group of friends, her grandad's group of friends, her mother and father's group of friends, then there will be praying and worshipping, and their house will become a church's hall.
