Chapter 24

Jennie's POV

Seulgi and I sat on the couch anxiously waiting for them to wake up. It was 8 in the morning and both of us barely got any sleep while the rest in here was sleeping soundly.

"They're still alive, right?" Seulgi questioned jokingly.

"Of course they are." I playfully whacked Seulgi's shoulder.

"Damn Irene's going to have a horrible hangover when she wakes up."

It's a good thing it was a Saturday or I would've totally skipped work. There was no way I was going to do anything else except try to get to the bottom of this.

Half an hour later, we decided to eat our breakfast while we wait. I told Seulgi beofore about Lisa on my dreams, i know she's thinking im crazy, well that's what everyone thought of me.

I circled my spoon around the bowl and played with the cereals in it. I didn't really feel like eating, at least not right now.

I was just about to say something when I saw Lisa stretch from my peripheral vision. I flinched and dropped my spoon on the floor, causing her to slowly flinch in surprise. Her hair was a complete mess, her shirt was crumpled, and she looked like she had absolutely no clue what was going on.

"Where am I?" she yawned while scratching her eyes.

"Hi," Seulgi and I both said at the same time. It was hard to hide the enthusiasm.

"You passed out last night." Seulgi spoke slowly. "You were drunk and . .. "

"Oh yeah I remember," Lisa interrupted groggily. Her eyes darted towards me. "Where is Rosé?"

"She's out with Jisoo. They were just strolling down the street. " i said. Lisa paused for a moment before she spoke.

"oh its you. are you okay?" she asked .

"Uh... me?" I slowly motioned toward my chest, still in disbelief that she was standing in front of me, talking to me.

"Yeah, you," she smiled sheepishly. "You passed out and you're just lucky I caught you. What was that all about?"

I opened my mouth to say something but nothing came out.

Seulgi picked up her glass from the table and looked at both of us. "I'll be upstairs at Irene, call me if you need anything. I believe you two need to talk."

A part of me didn't want Seulgi to leave because I wasn't sure if I could handle this on my own. It was already hard having a conversation with Lisa without feeling like fainting again.

When Seulgi was gone, Lisa got up and sat next to me, making my heart pound even faster. She just sat there staring at me, like as if she was trying to figure something out. She kept her gaze on me as she reached out her hand, touching the ends of my hair.

"How do you know me again?" she finally asked, her eyes never leaving mine.

"You... uhmm...." I stammered. If she doesn't know me, how was I supposed to tell her the reason why I know her without being mistaken for a lunatic?

"You sure you don't know me?" I diverted the question to her. "Like a hundred percent positive? You didn't wake up from some sort of coma or anything like that? Amnesia? Maybe hit your head somewhere...?"

"Well... you just said it." Lisa tossed her head back and laughed, looking at me. "I don't think i should be saying this to you but you're right, i woke up from a year of coma two months ago. You know, we caught up in an accident and my family died. But its been years, im fine now? I'm pretty sure I'm in a normal state right now... except for the fact that I have a bad hangover and we ended up sleeping in someone's house. I don't think I was that drunk though because I still remember what happened." She really hit her head. Thats it!

"I'm kind of lost here," Lisa scratched her head. "I don't know you, but then you feels really familiar, it's actually driving me a bit insane."

I stared at her in awe. I wanted to just bawl in front of her. She was like the exact Lisa that I knew. She had the same charming personality and the exact same smile. The way she looked at me was the same too it actually gave me chills. Almost everything was exactly the same except she wasn't madly in-love with me – and just the thought of that was enough to break me apart.

"Can you tell me what happened to you?" I began, placing my hands on my lap, trying to be as calm as possible. I was preparing myself for what I was about to hear.

She shook her head and smiled slyly. "You haven't answered my question yet. I asked you how do you know me."

"Right," I nodded hesitantly. This was it. I had to tell her. There was no other possible way for her to find out.

"Well...?"

I stood up and paced back and forth, thinking of ways I could spill it to her in the least-crazy sounding way. "Okay, before you react, I just want to say that everything I'm about to tell you is true and I am not insane. It's up to you if you will believe in me or not."

I don't think that sounded less crazy.

"You're kind of scaring me..." she bit her lip, looking at me like an innocent child who was about to get some spanking.

"Oh no, it's nothing you should be afraid of or whatever," I let out a smile while sighing. I've been fidgeting with my fingers since the minute she woke up and I couldn't seem to stop. "It's just not something that would usually happen. More like surreal."

"So can you just get on with it?"

"Alright, so I'll just tell you in a straightforward manner," I swallowed. "No more beating around the bush."

"Just say it," she pursed her lips. "You're beating around the bush right now."

I covered my face with my hands and took a deep breath. I looked back at her as I slowly brought my hands down, wishing this moment would just be over. "I've been dreaming about you," I blurted out.

"You've been dreaming about me?" she repeated, sounding a bit confused.

"Well, not anymore," I said. "But just a few months ago, I used to have consistent dreams about you every single night. It's kind of mind-blowing, I know. Especially now that I'm talking to you in real life."

She's probably going to run out the door any moment now.

Anytime now.

Okay, she's still sitting there.

She's not calling me a freak or anything.

She looked like she was still trying to process what I just told her. "And that's how you met me? In your dreams?"

"Exactly."

"Would you mind telling me what kind of dreams?"

"It's like a normal relationship you'd have except it happened in my dreams," I answered.

"So we had a relationship?"

"Um, yes."

This was getting awkward.

"What kind of relationship?" Lisa raised an eyebrow.

I blushed and looked down on the ground. "You know."

"Ohhhh," she gave me a cheeky grin. "I know."

"Wait, what are you thinking?" I gasped. I knew that smile so well. "It's not like I've been having constant sex dreams about you, it was like an actual relationship!"

I covered my mouth after realizing what I just said. I wanted the ground to swallow me alive right this very moment. I knew I should've let Seulgi stay and handle everything for me.

"I did not say anything like that, Ms Kim," she smirked. She looked like she was having the time of her life right now while I was already dying of humiliation. "You cheeky little girl."

I didn't know whether I should laugh or cry. This situation reminded me of the early days of our relationship when we first got to know each other. She would always tease me and make me blush. Some things never change, whether it's reality or not.

"Anyway," I shrugged. "It's not what you think it is."

"Okay whatever you say," she grinned.

She stood up and faced me. She was really tall and even if she had just woken up from a hangover with her hair all over the place, she still looked absolutely dreamy and flawless. I had to learn how to catch my breath while standing in her presence.

"So you're saying that the reason why you know me now is because you've had a relationship with me in your dreams?" she said. "Like I was your girlfriend?"

"You got that right," I mumbled, my cheeks still flushed because of the shame. I might as well have confessed my love for her.

"That's interesting," she smiled. "You know, if I were a total ass, I would have jumped at this opportunity and use it as a chance to bring you to my bed. Anyone would've done that. You're beautiful."

"But you're not an ass." I mused. "You were actually one of the most amazing human beings I've ever met."

"Why? thank you," she said. "I'd take that as a compliment even if you were most definitely referring to the dream version of me."

I chuckled. "I think you're exactly the same person, Lisa. I just..." I paused. Was I starting to sound too needy?

"You just what?"

"I just wish you've been dreaming about me too," I sighed. "But I guess I can't always get what I want."

"I'm really sorry, Jennie," Lisa's face looked sullen. "Maybe I'm just not the same person that you knew."

"Don't say that..."

"But those were your dreams," she said, slowly backing away from me. "You can't possibly compare me to someone in your dreams."

"But that's you," I insisted. I didn't even care anymore if I sounded crazy. "You have the same hair, the same voice, even the same personality. She wasn't just some girl in my dream. She was you."

"Okay, so she's me," Lisa threw her hands up. "And what now? What happens next? You do realize that this is crazy for me to hear, right? You know what, nevermind. It's probably just the hangover talking. I need to head back home. Where's that chipmunk..."

"So you're just leaving?" I asked, following her as she walked towards the door. I was starting to panic really bad and I'm pretty sure it was showing.

"I need to find Rosé." she sighed, standing on the end of the doorstep.

"You still haven't told me about what happened to you."

"I don't like talking about it."

"Why not?"

"Because it's that personal to me and I'm kind of protective over it." she said. "Maybe I can tell you once I'm already okay with it."

I snickered and shook my head. "Lisa.. i need to know."

"why? Just watch the news," she groaned.

"I want to hear it from you."

"I dont like.... okay fine. I will tell you soon. Is that better?"

"Soon," I repeated with a smile. "So that means we're seeing each other again, right?"

"I guess so," she smiled back at me. "But right now I really have to find Rosé."

"Why don't you call her instead?" I asked, trying to contain my excitement.

"It's fine I'll look around too." she shook her head.

Why isn't she asking for my number? Damn it.

"Okay," I said slowly. "You take care."

I did want to give her some space and not seem to obsessive or she might consider not ever seeing me again.

"You don't live here, do you?" she asked.

"Oh no," I shook my head. "I live a few district away, near the Beantown Café."

"Beantown? I heard its famous. We can meet some other time there." she snorted.

I gulped. No, Jennie. This isn't a date. She probably just wants to talk about things.

"Of course!" I beamed. "That would be awesome."

"Great. How does Sunday night sound? Around seven?"

"Seven is perfect," I nodded.

"Okay. See you then," she gave me one last wave before heading out the gate. "Tell Irene that I'll be looking for Rosé."

"I definitely will," I smiled. I watched her as she walked down the street.

I hope she wasn't playing with me or anything, just to get rid of me.

When I got back inside, I saw Seulgi peeking from the top of the staircase. "So wet dreams, huh?" she winked.

"You little eavesdropper."

Seulgi laughed out loud as she walked down the stairs. "That bit was priceless."

"Shut up," I made a face.

"So she's seeing you again?"

"Yeah, fortunately."

"What are you planning?"

I sat down on the end of the staircase and sighed. "I don't know how I'm going to do it, but all I know is that I need to make her fall in-love with me all over again. She was good at chasing me in my dreams. Now it's my turn to do the chasing."
