Chapter 31

Jennie's POV

"You're kidding me, right?" Taemin stared at me for a good five seconds, after I dropped the bomb on him that I was planning on taking Lisa with me, not still sure about the one more excess ticket. "You're taking Lisa? The Lisa?"

I fiddled with the ends of my shirt and looked at him anxiously. "Ugh.If It's a bad decision, just tell me."

"Oh it is a bad decision," Taemin widened his eyes. "To be honest, I don't really care who you bring. I'm just worried about the commotion it might possibly cause. You do realize that Kai most probably hates Lisa more than anything in life, right?"

I glanced at Taemin.

"What did Lisa say?" he asked. "Does she want to come? Because you can't just take it back. You did offer her a free trip to New York so that would be quite harsh."

"Of course she was up for it. I know it's a bad idea, but I just really wanted to take Lisa to New York with me," I sighed. "I had a plan though, if you are even interested in hearing it."

"What is it?" Taemin curiously asked.

"Well, here's the plan. I'm pretty sure there will be lots of people there," I said. "We just have to make sure that Kai and Lisa don't meet."

"How on earth are we going to pull that off?" Taemin snorted as he munched on a bag of potato chips while lying comfortably on my couch.

"I guess that's where you come in," I sheepishly grinned him.

Lisa's POV

"What the fuck? This is real life!" she said, almost yelling but sounding like she was going to laugh again any minute.

"No, it's not!" she yelled back. This time she could really feel the tears roll down her cheeks. "You're not real, ok? I'm just dreaming and any moment now, you're going to disappear again, just like what happens every night! I see you and then you disappear and leave me hanging and wondering!"

She threw her bucket hat on the ground in frustration and just started to grab strands of her hair. "Oh god, you are insane."

"I'm not insane," she insisted. "I'm just a girl who's dreaming of someone right now, and that someone is you. It's called lucid dreaming. I can control my dreams right now and I am telling you, you are not real -"

She flung her hands in the air and walked towards her, pulling her by the waist.

"Tell me, is this fake?" she said, right before catching her off guard and roughly pressing her soft lips against hers.

I rushed to open my laptop, clicking on the document I was working on last night. Writer's block was being a pain on the arse, but whenever I'd get these flashbacks and weird visions in my head, I suddenly feel so vigorous and inspired.

I put on my reading glasses and started to type. The words and ideas just kept flowing from my mind as I typed really quickly.

Jennif–

Oh right. I'm using our names now. I clicked on backspace and began typing the story based on the flashback I had. I wonder if these flashbacks were dreams I had the night before or my memories? What if they were the exact same dreams Jennie had? My ideas have been the same as her dreams so far, so it's not impossible.

I could help but imagine the kiss that the lead characters shared. It's almost as if I could feel it in my own lips. I started imagining Jennie's lips on mine,  the only lips I could imagine kissing right now, the only lips i know. Why do I keep chickening out when it comes to kissing her?

It's almost as if like I was so infatuated that I'm afraid I'll screw it up. It's not like I haven't kissed girls before. But Jennie was different.

She wasn't just some girl that you'll kiss and then sleep with right after. She was the type of girl who will enthrall you the moment her lips touch yours. The kind of girl that will keep me sleepless for a couple of nights because I can't stop thinking of her; the kind of girl that will drive me crazy and keep me sane at the same time.

She was the kind of girl that I would fall in-love with.

I saved the document I was typing before unlocking my phone to send her a text.

To Jennie:

Hiiiiiii watcha doin tonight?

She was very quick at replying.

From Jennie:

Nothing much. Got any plans? :)

Perfect.

To Jennie:

I was wondering if I could come over once you arrive home from work? I can bring some food. What would you like to have?

Please say yes, please say yes, please say yes – beeeep!

From Jennie:

Oh I can actually just order pizza if you want, so you won't have to go out and buy food.

To Jennie:

Sounds good but you have to promise me that you're letting me pay this time. I won't take no for an answer. You've been spoiling me too much already.

From Jennie:

Hahahahahaha FINE, if you insist. Swing by at around six-thirty?

To Jennie:

Great! I can't wait to see you.

I smiled to myself just with the thought of seeing her again tonight. I've been seeing her everyday since we met last week and I do not plan on changing that.

I was about to go back to writing when my phone rang. I was disappointed to see that it wasn't Jennie, but then felt quite psyched to see Rosé's name on the screen.

"Good morning Lisa!" she greeted with a chirpy voice. As soon ad hearing her, there's some sort of image of a girl flash in my mind....

"Heeyyyy. How are you?"

"I'm all good. Missing you. Has your Aunt texted you our flight details for next weekend?"

I frowned. Next weekend?

"Uh, what's happening next weekend?"

"It's your great nan's ninety-fifth birthday. Oh god, you couldn't have forgotten. But i told you last time about it."

Oh shit! I completely forgot. I thought that was like two weeks from now. I pretty much forgot about everything since I met Jennie. My life has been so different since then.

"Oh right..." I mumbled. "Of course I haven't forgotten."

"Silly you.  Anyway, so we're picking you up at ten in the morning next Saturday, alright? The party will be the next day"

"Right. I'll see you then."

"Yah you don't sound so excited. Is something wrong?"

"Oh, I'm totally fine. Just a bit tired, that's all."

"You keep overworking yourself with your condition?" she sighed. "Make sure you pause and take a breather from time to time, it will be okay."

"Oh I do. Believe me."

"That's good to know. So I'll see you, okay? I have to go now and do some groceries. I'll visit you again sometime this week!"

"Alright, bye chipmunk. love you."

I hung up the phone and stared at the ceiling, wondering what the hell I was going to tell Jennie now. I wanted to go to New York with her so bad. She hasn't really told me the details yet, but she somehow managed to score free plane tickets to her friend's exhibit in New York.

But I couldn't possibly skip nan's birthday party. She's turning ninety-five for goodness sakes and i miss my sister too although i can't remember how she looks like. Ugh. I guess I just really have to choose between the two since I can't possibly be at both events.

Jennie's POV

I dabbed on a bit of lip gloss and fixed my hair in front of the mirror. This is Lisa's first time coming over and I've been nervous the entire day at work.

Of course I was planning on seeing her again tonight, but I didn't think she'd actually invite himself over.

When the buzzer rang, I pretty much ran all the way to the door.

I felt my heart racing faster than ever when I swung the door open, revealing Lisa who was leaning against the wall with a cheeky grin on her face.

"Hi," she smiled.

"Hello," I managed to say whilst mindlessly smoothening out my dress due to major anxiety. I don't know why I was always this nervous during the first few minutes of being with her.

She comfortably walked inside my apartment, her eyes immediately wandering around the place. "Nice place you got here. It feels very homey."

"Thanks," I blushed. Everything she says makes me blush. "Do you want anything to drink before we eat? The pizza should be here in a few minutes."

"No, I'm good," she shook her head. "I need to tell you something. Well two things. Do you want the bad thing first or the good one?"

"There's a bad one?" I frowned.

"Unfortunately," she sighed. "So that one first?"

"Alright, I guess."

I could see the sadness in her eyes as she broke the news to me. "I can't go to New York with you."

"What?" my face fell  in disappointment. "But why?"

"It's my great nan's birthday that weekend, so I have to go home," she explained. "I know you're going to be completely bummed, but this party was planned a and it just slipped my mind. I thought it was next, next weekend."

I didn't know if I should be disappointed or actually relieved that we didn't have to go through what we planned just so we could bring Lisa without Kai knowing. I wanted her to be with me, but at the same time I also wanted a stress free trip, so I guess this bad news was a blessing in disguise.

"Awwww, Lisa," I sighed, bring my face to her cheek. "I totally understand. I'd love to have you with me, but family comes first."

"So you're not mad?"

"No, I'm not."

"Oh god," she let out a sigh of relief. "I was afraid you'll be pissed or whatever. Just so you know, I really, really wanted to go more than anything else."

"I know, but I understand you, so I'm not mad at all."

She took my hand in her and tucked a strand of my hair behind my ear. "You're the best, you know that?"

Before I could even melt into a puddle of feels right in front of her, I decided to ask what the next thing was. "And the good news?" I blinked, trying not to bat my eyelashes like a seductive twerp.

"Ahhh, I wouldn't say it's news, but I'm actually getting somewhere in the story," her eyes lit up in excitement. "Do you still remember what happens after they .... I mean, after we jumped off that cliff, Jennie?"

"Wait, when we actually jumped off a cliff yesterday or the one in my dreams?" I asked.

"Your dreams."

"Oh,um... I do remember," I gulped. "We had a little argument."

"The argument was about me not being real, am I right?" Lisa raised an eyebrow, anxiously waiting for my response.

"Yeah, you're right!" I nodded quickly. "Did you dream about it?"

"No, but I saw it happen in my mind," she shook her head. "I must have dreamt about it but as usual, I didn't remember the dream I had."

"D-do you remember what happened while we were arguing? Were you able to write about it?" I stammered.

"I wrote three whole pages about it, Jennie," she breathed, giving me a satisfied smile. "I'm finally getting somewhere. It's so weird. Ever since you came, everything became clearer in my mind. It's like I could actually feel it. Im sometimes confused if it was my memory that i lost of was it just a dream. The girl, well you . . . you were insisting that I was just a dream and that I wasn't real. You were very stubborn, I might have to add."

"I know I was," I chuckled. "Everything just seemed too crazy for me to comprehend all at once. I was just starting to dream of you, so I couldn't understand what was happening just yet."

"You were so cute even when you were yelling," Lisa teased. "You were so angry at me, but I already felt that you liked me. You were clearly feeling torn."

"Do you remember what happened next?" I hopefully asked.

Lisa stared into my eyes and nodded slowly. "Yes. I clearly remember."

"Do you want to feel exactly what happened?" I took one more step closer to her until we merely a few inches apart. I could already feel her warm breath against the tip of my nose.

"I do..." she whispered. "I want to know how it felt like."

"It felt..." I murmured, slowly brushing my lips against her before teasingly pulling away for a second. "...exactly... like..."

"This."

I wrapped my arms around her neck, pulling her closer as I passionately pressed my lips against her.
