Chapter 33

Jennie's POV

As much as we both wanted to have alone time again tonight, we knew we had to do something about our current dilemma. Our planned frozen yogurt date ended up being an after-dinner double date with Seulgi and Irene unnie.

When I told Seulgi I needed to meet with her, she insisted that Irene joined because she had a lot to say about our project.

"I hate her," she said blankly, taking a spoonful of her dessert. "She's arrogant, despicable, selfish, and manipulative. I am more than willing to help some other amateur with this."

I sighed, mindlessly tapping my plastic spoon on the edge of my bowl. "So what do we do now? Quit our job? I most certainly do not want to help Minseo promote her new film."

Lisa's cheeks turned red. "Why? You can just sabotage her film." she chuckled.

"How i wish we can." Seulgi hissed. "That means she's going to have pretty much horrible job at work," Seulgi pointed out. "And that's going to be so much fun!"

"you're so cool, Seul" Lisa mused as she stared at Seulgi in wonder.

Seulgi popped an imaginary collar and smirked. "I am, I know."

"She is something," Irene agreed, brushing her hand over Seulgi's shoulder. Her cheeks turned bright red in a matter of seconds and I had to try so hard not to giggle right there in front of them.

* * *

We spent the next week planning Minseo's film while keeping my job at the moment. Since we weren't at the major stage of planning at work, it was still easy balancing the two things out.

I'd hangout with Lisa devotedly every night after work. I always managed to surprise her even if she was already eager to see me. One night while she was busy writing, I surprised her with a home-cooked meal that she ended up loving.

The night after, we had a quiet evening at the park as she wrote her story.

Her head was on my lap as she typed on her tablet, sneaking in kisses from time to time.

"I'm doing a better job at this than I have ever done with my previous parts" she told me.

"Why so?"

"Because it's like I'm actually seeing the love story unfold right before my eyes," she smiled, titling her head up to kiss my lips. "Nothing beats first hand experience. You could say this is based on a true story now."

"I can already imagine your name read out in the Book or something."

"This is only a past time babe," she chuckled.

"Hey, a girl can dream, right?" I teasingly poked her cheek. "I'm already dreaming big for you. You're capable of so many great things, Lisa. You just don't know it yet."

"I think you are too," she said, touching my cheek with her thumb, like as if she was appreciating every single detail on my face. "I don't think you should box yourself within the four walls of your office, Jennie. You're so much better than that."

"Has Irene been talking to you about making me quit my job?" I raised an eyebrow.

Seulgi and Irene knows how bored I am with work and she's been trying to convince everyone else to agree with her because she always believes that she's right.

"Maybe, maybe not," Lisa grinned. "They had a point though."

I sighed and leaned back on the grass. Lisa rose up from her lying position on my lap and lay right beside me. "I'm going to miss you when you go to New York," she softly said.

Our flight was tomorrow night, and I wasn't so sure if I was ready to face Kai yet.

"I'm going to miss you too," I pouted, trailing my finger up and down her toned forearm. "You'll call when you can, right? I mean, I really don't want to bother you when you're at your nan's party. You should enjoy your time with her."

"I know. But hey, we can have our own adventure out of the country again next time right?"

"Maybe we can go to Paris," I suggested.

"Maybe we can make that dream come true," Lisa added.

She got up and rolled himself over me, pushing her weight over my body with her arms. "In the meantime, let's try to make this night last forever before we part ways tomorrow."

"Sounds like a plan, Manoban," I smiled, pulling her down by her neck, allowing her to press her lips against mine.

the next day..

Lisa's POV

I slammed my laptop shut in excitement after adding new material to my story. These visions were starting to become sharper and more vivid everyday. It's almost as if I was dreaming while I was awake.

I got into my car and drove to Rosé's house, ignoring the fact that it was nine in the morning and she was probably asleep. When I got there, I rang the doorbell thrice in excitement, hoping she didn't wake up on the wrong side of the bed.

The door swung open, and there stood Rosé, looking like she had just woken up. She was wearing dark blue that even matched the color of the coffee mug she was holding. Her hair was a mess but she didn't look like she was irritated or anything.

"Hey, what brings you here..."

I cut her off by practically wrapping my arms around her, pulling her close for a tight hug. "Oh god, I remember you now! I know your face Rosé I can see you!!"

Rosé gave me a strange look after I let go of her. "So you mean you can recognize faces now?" her eyes turned from sleepy to amazed.

"Chaeng, this is crazy! I started to remember your face." I ran my fingers through my hair in disbelief. "It's almost as if i had a miracle! I- i don't know what happened! Im just with Jennie. and then when i was driving...i remember you... and "

"So tell me," Rosé said as she sat on her kitchen stool, offering me to take the seat next to her. "What did you do that made you healed?"

"I don't know. It was more like unexpected. I can only recognize Jennie for once," I explained "I...I can't explain, it just all flooded inside my head and there!!"

"Oh my god. So... you recognize Jennie's face before anything else? Was that even possible? The doctor told us that it's a rare case and then you get treated just by being with that girl for over weeks?? Really?" Rosé frown she poured me a cup of coffee.

"i don't know... After Irene's party, i can't seems to forget her face."

I stared into space as I tried to collect my thoughts. "I don't understand what's happening, Chaeng. This is so crazy. I mean, I've only known her for a week and I never even thought this was possible, but I think..." I couldn't even process my own words.

"You think what?" Rosé impatiently asked.

"I think there's something in her, I think I'm falling for her," I said, pressing my forehead against the palm of my hand. "I fell in-love with Jennie."

So I just indirectly confessed my love for Jennie to my best friend who was staring at me in bewilderment right now.

"Like you're really in-love with her?" Rosé asked. "You're sure about it?"

"I don't know," I shook my head in confusion.

"How could you not know?"

"I mean, in two weeks?" I bit my lip. "Who falls in-love with someone in two weeks? I just can't stop thinking about her and as crazy as it sounds, I felt something in me the moment I laid eyes on her. It's almost as if it was love at first sight. I never believed in that but now my current situation is proving me wrong."

Rosé smiled at me as she placed her hand on my shoulder. "Lis, if you're feeling it, don't push it away. You and Jennie are both in an extraordinary situation so it's not very surprising that you're feeling this way towards her. It was bound to happen. Maybe you've been in-love with her all along"

"You make clothes, you own a successful business at such a young age, you have the same dreams, you're now a love guru – what can't you do?" I stared at her in awe.

"Ha!" Rosé chuckled and shook her head. "Jack of all trades but a master of none."

"You're quite a master when it comes to love though," I smiled. When I moved to her place, I didn't think I'd feel comfortable with anyone right away, given the fact that I can't recognize anyone, I was used to being alone in my room, delving into another world as I wrote my own stories.

Jennie changed everything for me. Now I felt like I was capable of anything.

"I can't say I'm a master, but I knew something about Jennie," Rosé shrugged. "I heard from Jisoo what she had to go through before you came into her life. It wasn't easy, falling in-love with someone who's heart was broken. But she got through it, and you can only imagine how happy she is now that you're actually in her life. You're in good hands. Whatever you're feeling now, I'm sure it's real."

"I just wish I clearly understand what's going on with me."

I couldn't help but smile to myself. It's different when it comes from someone else. For me, it shows that the person's love is that big – big enough for other people to see and feel it.

"Anyway, I guess I'll have to go," I stood up from the counter. "Sorry for barging in so early in the morning. I got overexcited."

"Eh?, it's not like you never lived in here " Rosé gave me a pat on the back when I hugged her for the second time "Should we visit your doctor before we leave for Thailand?"

"Maybe after we came back?! I really want to see everyone." I smile but deep down my heart felt heavy knowing that i'll be going away and Jennir will go to New York without me. I couldn't help but feel a slight pang of jealousy towards Seulgi , Irene and her other friends that would be going to the exhibit with her.

"Yeah, I'll see you then" I weakly smiled at her.

I drove back to my apartment with complete determination and motivation to finish my story as soon as possible. I decided to not to tell Jennie that i have my ability back, maybe after a week when we saw each other again.

We were going to be apart for a few days so I have to solely depend on my visions for me to move on forward with the story. If only I could at least remember them after I wake up. At least a confirmation that it did happen in my dream, while i was in a state of Coma.
