Chapter 14

(AN: I lied, the main story starts in 1 or 2 chapters >.> Sorrryyyy (not sorry) You'll love this chapter, for sure.)

Mystogan POV

I was curious about this man. He seemed to be about 25 and seemed to exactly fit with the stories created about him from the inhabitants of Earthland.

A fairly tall stoic-faced man with a fair complexion, dressed in a cloak with red clouds. His onyx eyes were above long, pronounced tear-troughs. His jet-black hair was pulled back into a low ponytail, framing his face with center-parted bangs that extended to his chin.

His clothing and outer appearance were not what made him truly unique, however.

It was his eyes... his perplexing red eyes that could seem to put anyone into an illusion--no, that is exactly what his eyes did.

I closed my eyes, calming down my consciousness that had begun to rest unknowingly.

"Your eyes... a form of illusion magic never seen before. In every confrontation, you will always have your opponents look into your eyes, and that would be when you have won... before the fight has even begun. Just as the rumors had described."

My voice was calm but even I was slightly afraid of his capabilities. Humans are after all afraid of the unknown. I had studied various forms of magic, but to use the eyes as the medium to cast illusion magic? That was something I had never seen before.

Even with my eyes closed, I could tell he dawned a calm smile on his face.

"You have nothing to fear, Mystogan. Although your stay so far in Fairy Tail was short, I know enough to judge that you harbor no ill intent for Fairy Tail and have come... here... for a different purpose. No enemies shall be made today."

"Brief as this was, I welcome you to Fairy Tail as the newest S-Class Mage. I will not test your power or loyalty. Only time will tell."

I exhaled lightly, no longer feeling pressured.

I was relieved that my enlisting into Fairy Tail as an S-Class Mage went without a hitch. I truly did not have ill will against Fairy Tail and did not wish to battle a powerful enigma known as the Elusive Eyes of Fairy Tail.

My only goal here was to prevent my father from using Anima to continue taking magic energy from Earthland.

At the same time, I truly admired his ability to judge a person's true intentions. Had I been capable of such, maybe I would've been able to stop my father.

"My deepest gratitude, Uchiha Itachi," I said as I bowed slightly.

"Please, call me Itachi."

"And so long as you do your fair share of jobs and quests, Master Makarov and I will not question what you do in your spare time. I have a feeling it is important."

I opened my eyes, glancing at his eyes, no longer feeling a change in my magic energy. He was unexpectedly understanding. No, that was to be expected from someone with such powerful eyes.

"Once again, I am really thankful for your foresight, Itachi. I will be able to explain everything eventually but I hope that day should never come, otherwise, it would mean a catastrophe for all of us."

He nodded, accepting my answer to my great surprise. He then turned around and walked off without questions for what I had just said.

"Itachi? After what I had just said, would you not be curious as to what a catastrophe for all of us would mean? No questions to be asked?"

Itachi stopped his footsteps, his dark cloak and hair waving along with the wind.

He then slightly turned his head, glancing back at me with his unique red eyes, now shaped in a three-pronged spinning curve.

"...No questions to be answered."

I blinked, only to notice that he was gone.

No, that's not it.

He was never even here...
