Chapter 33 – Fiona? Mage and Warriors

When he looked at Fiona's face, it was the face of someone that was holding in a laugh. She couldn't maintain her angry expression any more, and she started to laugh at his fake deep voice.

Aile soon realized his mistake and smiled back. Although Fiona was laughing at him, it made him happy. Aile did not want to be the cause of Fiona's angry expression. Aile knew he was at fault because he had made her worried. Seeing her smile and laugh made him content.

He slowly brought the box and placed it close to his bed. Then with a gentle tone, he said to Fiona, "I am sorry a lot of things happened, and I reached here later than I planned."

Fiona said, "I will forgive you if you take me with you next time. Waiting and worrying is not something for me!"

Aile smiled back at Fiona and said "Deal!"

He had always liked Fiona's straightforwardness. She had been supportive of his action since he remembers. When he saw her anxious and worried face, he understood that she genuinely cares for him, and he can trust her more. Aile then slowly narrated the events of today.

Fiona face would jump from a surprised expression to worried to shocked and many more emotions through the course of the story. Aile did not hide anything and told her everything. Including his speculation of Xue and her family possibly being in an influential one.

Aile did not tell her that he got injured in the carriage as it could make her worry.

Aile like Fiona because she never asked him about where he learnt stuff or question him. Similarly, today she did not ask him anything, Aile saw her inquisitive expression. Aile had already started to trust her, so he said: "hehe, you seem very curious, do you have any questions?"

Fiona had a pondering expression and said: "Do you cultivate?"

Aile nodded.

Fiona then said: "What stage have you reached?"

"The second stage," Aile said.

Fiona then moved her palm very quickly and aimed it Aile's right shoulder. Her palm was glowing with white light. Aile figured out it was a test. He found her action very lovable. Even in this situation, she directed her plan to the shielded location of his shoulder, showing her concern.

Aile saw that the attack was at the strength of a first stage cultivator.

Aile simply moved his hands and met her palm with his, the two palms hit and nullified each other. She quickly moved her other palm much faster, targeting the same location. The gentle glow was sharper this time, and this attack was at the initial second stage of cultivation. This time Aile simply moved his arm showing his quick agility and dodged the palmed.

As soon as he dodged, he saw a smile on Fiona's face. At this moment he noticed a much faster palm coming for him. As he was in the middle of the movement, it would be hard to dodge it again.

His stance was also not ready to allow him to send a strong enough palm out to nullify her palm. This would have been enough to catch off guard any new cultivator.

However, Aile had been practising based on his inherited memories. He had learned combat from actual fights and has practised the most efficient methods to fight, he did not panic.

He too smiled and moved his hand to intercept hers. Fiona had a surprised expression, and she also started to panic. If her palm meets his palm that did not have enough force, it could break it.

Fiona was about to forcefully stop her hand; if she did that, she could damage her palm. She had become excited and had taken the spar too far. However, she saw that his palm passed hers and gently tapped her soft forearm and shifted her hands.

Her attack missed.

She was surprised at how easily he managed to stop her most practised attack. She had a confused expression on her face. She did not believe that a person who has no fighting experience can do that.

She knows how Aile spends all of his time in the house and has never fought anyone here. Yet he still has the understanding of which attack should be blocked which dodged and which deflected.

Aile smiled at her and said: "Now, do you believe me?"

Fiona smiled back "I always believe you. I just wanted to see your progress."

Aile then smirked, "How did I do?"

Fiona gave a bland smile, "You did great, and you have excellent reflexes and combat awareness. I will train with you to develop my combat capabilities."

Aile was surprised at her expression, "Why does it feel like you are not happy about it?"

Fiona sighed, "I did not want to disappoint you, but I do not want to lie to even more."

Aile's curiosity was piqued.

Fiona continued, "Do you know why most people wait until they are at least 14 years old before they start cultivation?"

Aile shook his head. He had seen most people just train their bodies and not cultivated including, Sara and Sophie. However, he had never asked the reason. Aile had assumed that their cultivations must have a requirement.

Fiona continued, "There are two methods to use the World Energy. The first method is to absorb the world energy into your body, strengthening it through the process.

This way, your body becomes more agile, sturdier, and faster and have more endurance. This is known as the path of a warrior. However, they cannot manifest the world energy outside of their bodies.

The second method is to turn your body into the storage for world energy. You find your elemental affinity and try to store the element that you are most compatible with, in your body.

Then you can use that element through incantations as projectiles, coating for weapons or reinforcing your body with. It can be used in many more creative ways. The second method is generally a harder path, but it becomes more useful. Thus, everyone wants to follow this path to become a world energy cultivator or a mage.

You can only start the path of a mage once your body has grown to a particular stage. This can be different for people, some can start cultivation as early as 14 others can be as late as 20 years old. Of course, there are special-cases, but for the majority, this is the range.

Body cultivation or path of warriors, on the other hand, can be done at any age. However, its growth is limited, and only a few select families have the proper method to thread this path.

You have started in the path of warriors. I think it would be better if you get rid of your cultivation and try to become a mage."

Aile understood her concerned face now. She had assumed that he had gone the path of a warrior. However, his enhanced body was due to the unique cultivation and not because of him training his body. To reduce her worry, Aile said: "look at this!"

Then, Aile manifested his energy outside of his body, although it was a bit straining on Aile, he can do this with ease.

Fiona, seeing the situation, had a bewildered expression. Then, she looked at Aile with curiosity. Aile smiled back, "Do not worry, I am not in the path of a warrior!"

Although even if he had gone to the path of the warrior, he could have great accomplishment with the "Heavenly Myriad Book of Stars." He could get tailored cultivation from there.

Fiona said: "Stop!"

Aile did as he was told and said: "What is wrong?"

Fiona replied, "Promise me to never show that to anyone. If others find out that you have a cultivation manual that could strengthen the body and also allow you to be like a Mage. They will do everything in their power to get it from you. "

Aile had not thought about this issue and was surprised at his neglect. He had a trusting smile towards Fiona. He then asked Fiona, who showed little interest in his cultivation, "Do you not want it?"

She looked at him with a smile and said: "You are too important to me to betray for getting a little stronger."

She continued, "You might still have to restart your cultivation, your energy is too impure when you manifested it."

Aile knew what she meant and said: "I have a different plan, do not worry!" Aile knew that his Surmounting Spirit Cultivation required different energies and would not be as effective with few elements. He planned to focus on his projectile attacks and other mage skills with his light and dark attributes once he takes over the body.

Fiona smiled, "I fully trust you."

Fiona then asked: "You said that you have something important to discuss with me?"

"Yes, I want to get the financial control of Port Kiar," said Aile.

Aile then explained how he negotiated with the bandits and how he came to get the wealth of Jack Oxe, including the deeds of the shops and his estate.
