Happily playing with her dolls , the young red haired princess was suddenly called by her father to the royal hall. When she arrived, she saw her childhood friend Liam, the young master of the Duke's mansion. 


Mei asked her father why Liam was in the royal hall. Mei's father said " My beloved daughter, it's time for you to meet your fiancé. Your mother and I decided to let you know this early so that you and Liam would know our intentions." 


Mei shouted "You have no right to decide who I will marry! You have to give me the freedom to choose! I only see Liam as a brother! I cannot accept this!" The king said "You are my daughter and your mother and I will decide your future! Besides what do you not like about Liam? He has everything. He is perfect for you." 


Mei started crying and ran back to her room. She asked herself " What have I done to have limited freedom? I wish I wasn't a princess but just an ordinary girl with an ordinary life." She walked towards her mirror and thought of running away. She knew her parents would disapprove but she had no choice. 


Mei started packing all the necessities she'll be needing and got ready for her departure. Midnight came and everyone was in their rooms sleeping. Mei snuck out of her room, tip toed towards the main door and was able to escape the castle.
