From the looks of it, the eye of the hurricane extended for quite a few hundred kilometers at least. It was just due to the Glacial Overflow being so big that they could see it from their position on the other side.

"It can't be!" Duleti couldn't help but comment. "There has never been a hurricane in the Glacial Overflow before, let alone one with the Glacial Decay Runes. Is this still the Glacial Decay Airstream?"
