Night Encounter

There was a figure standing at the balcony staring out at the black sky. Her flowing black hair glowed in the moonlight. She was wearing a long dress that flowed along with the wind. Even though her back was turned, Lin Ke could tell her beauty with just a look.

The woman reached her hands up toward the moon, cupping her hands around the round white sphere. It was a full moon tonight, and the moon was in clear view, unobstructed by any clouds. As the woman held her hand outstretched, something shocking happened.

As the woman held her hands out, the moonlight seemed to gather in her hands, and in a mysterious manner, condensed into a flower. It was a white, delicate flower, with many petals in its folds. The flower was about twice the size of the woman's hands. When she did this, her hair shimmered in and turned white.

Lin Ke widened his eyes in shock, and took a step back. *Tap* His footsteps echoed through the halls. This causes the woman to turn her head in surprise.

Her eyes were wide in surprise, as if not expecting someone to be there. It was a familiar face that he was greeted with, but it was also a foreign face. In the moonlight, and holding onto a beautiful large flower, was the granddaughter of Master Sal, Lia Quinn, herself. Her features were accentuated by the glow of the full moon, and her now white hair gave her a sort of pure and untouchable aura.

Lin Ke couldn't help but stare. He couldn't take his eyes off of her. His staring makes Lia look very uncomfortable, and she couldn't help but blush a little. She turns away.

"Stop staring at me. It's embarrassing." She says.

Lin Ke finally snaps out of it. "Ah! I'm sorry. I didn't mean to be rude. You just looked so pretty… I-" He stops, then thinks. Then starts to sweat. 'What did I just say to her? What did I just say? I can't believe I just blurted that out, what was I going to follow up with? AHHH! This is so embarrassing!'

What Lin Ke had just said made Lia blush even more. She turns back towards the balcony. Without knowing when, the flower in her hand had already disappeared and her hair had already turned back to its natural black color.

"So… why are you here? Are you lost?" Lia asked.

"Yeah, I kind of got lost after taking a bath. This place is just too big, I can't find my way around it."

"Oh, then follow me." Lia replies, and begins to walk away. She walked quickly, almost as if she was jogging, leaving Lin Ke to hurry after her. She didn't turn around to check that he was still following, nor did she say anything. Even though Lin Ke was still holding Lily, Lia also didn't ask to hold her. Thankfully, the awkward atmosphere didn't last, as they stopped in front of Lin Ke's room.

"Thank you." Lin Ke said, not knowing what to say in this situation. "Well, I guess, good night?"

Lia finally looks over, and with her face still red, quietly replies, "Good night." and proceeds to walk away speedily.

After watching her disappear around the corner, Lin Ke enters the room and lies down on the bed. 'What was that all about?' He thought to himself. Then, after thinking further into the scene earlier, Lin Ke's face heats up. He turns and buries himself into the blanket. 'Stop stop stop! Don't think about it anymore!'

Of course, Lily wasn't going to let this golden opportunity slide by without making a few comments. "Hoho. Was the beautiful maiden too much for your hormones to handle? Was your imagination going on a roller coaster ride? Look at you, your face is so red!"

Hearing this, Lin Ke gets annoyed. "Hmmm. It seems like you've recovered from that bath huh? Do you want another one?" He says in a threatening voice. He looks straight into Lily's eyes.

To Lily, those eyes seemed to be those of the devil. They peered straight into her soul, and made her shiver in fear. "I'm sorry! Please! Please don't torture me like that again!"

"Ehehehehe! Don't worry! I'll make sure it doesn't hurt. Plus, I read somewhere that if you give a cat a bath enough times, they get used to it soon… I wonder how many it takes…"

"Nooo! Please! How can you ever get used to something like that? The water makes my fur feel so heavy! It sucks! Disgusting!" Lily screams while scratching at Lin Ke.

After this, the room calms down, with both of them not talking any longer. That's when Lin Ke realized he forgot to ask what that flower was, and how Lia managed to make that out of seemingly nothing.

"Lily, what was that earlier? How did Lia make that flower? What is that flower? Why did her hair turn white?" Lin Ke asked.

Lily's answer was nowhere near satisfactory, "I'm sorry, but the system is not authorized to provide you with that information right now. You will understand later on."

"Che." Lin Ke frowns. "What can the system do huh?"

"That's rude, the system provides top of the line services including storage spaces, as well as materials for sale." Lily answers. "That said, have you thought about whether you wish to purchase the services for your spatial storage space? It's only 25 Low-grade Chaos Stones a month! The system is offering you a huge discount!"

"No! I'll think about it if you mark it down to 20 Chaos Stones."

"What! That's downright theft!" Lia seemed like a completely different person when it came to selling a product. "There's nowhere else where you could get such great service for 25 Low-grade Chaos Stones and you're still wanting more?"

"Well, we have nothing to discuss if you won't mark it down." Lin Ke lies in bed and says. He flicks a switch at the side of the bed, and the glowing lights turn off.

"Wait! 23 Chaos Stones."

*Silence*

Lily grits her cat fangs. "22."

*Silence*

"FINE 21! That's the lowest I'll go."

*Still Silence*

Lily stops for a moment, as if contemplating her choices. 'If I sell this to him at 20, I would still be earning about 14 Chaos Stones a month… Garhhh. Fine!'

"Fine! 20! I'll go 20!"

"Deal!" Lin Ke replies immediately with a smile. "Well, good night!" Lin Ke says, before drifting off to sleep.
