Breaking Out

Lily brings a paw up to the invisible barrier and closes her eyes.

Suddenly, Lin Ke feels as if the air was being attracted towards Lily, all the air, the energy, everything was being attracted towards Lily. After gaining cultivation, Lin Ke had become more sensitive to the energy that was in the air, as well as the auras of individual people. As of right now, Lin Ke felt a monstrous and enormous amount of energy gathering in Lily's body.

Lily's body began to flicker, her small cat frame shined and to Lin Ke's eyes, grew blurry. There was enormous pressure on Lin Ke, so much that he felt it was hard to breath. He was already standing almost 10 feet away, but the pressure was as if the entire ocean was pressing down on him. Suddenly, the pressure disappeared, the energy all disappeared, or so Lin Ke thought.

He couldn't feel the energy anymore, but it was still there, the power had just gone beyond what Lin Ke was capable of understanding. He couldn't feel it, but it doesn't mean it wasn't there. In fact, Lily was glowing even brighter than earlier. Slowly, mist began condensing on top of Lily. The mist took the shape of a woman with flowing long hair. She was completely naked and only her upper body was able to be condensed, and second by second, her features were becoming more and more solid, she had long eyelashes, her eyes were closed, her face was narrow and gave a feeling of delicacy and beauty. Her body glowed brightly, and finally, after a few more seconds, she slowly opened her eyes.

It felt as if the wind stopped blowing, the air stopped moving, the world stopped turning in that instant. Lin Ke felt his ears pop, and he felt himself start to sweat despite not feeling anything. Perhaps it was a defense mechanism of human nature. Her eyes were completely black, there was no iris, and there were no whites to the eyes. It was a deep dark black, one that if someone were to stare straight into, would get lost in the darkness of it all.

Slowly, she raised her long delicate hands. Her long slender fingers were barely visible, and were ethereal, see-through. The anticipation built up as Lin Ke watched the woman's hands come close to the invisible wall. Slowly, her fingers made contact with the wall.

Where her finger touched, the wall rippled, the air rippled, and the rippling effect spread from there and around the windows of the hall and around the entire building. Then, there was silence. After the rippling came the destruction, Lin Ke felt a large blast that smashed him against the wall, and he heard a shattering sound, almost like glass. As he got flung into the wall, his head smashed into the wall hard, and passed out for a moment.

When he came to again, he was lying on a couch in a room. There was a coffee table in front of him with another sofa on the opposite side of the coffee table. Lin Ke brought his hands to his head and felt around to see if there was any damage.

'Ugh… What happened… That lady, who… Lily… Lily?' Lin Ke shook his head, and suddenly remembered what had happened.

"Lily!" He yelled. He looked around to see where she was, but couldn't see her.

'Shut up! I'm trying to sleep here! Do you think it's easy to use that much power? Let me sleep!' Lily's annoyed voice came from within Lin Ke's head. "Let me rest for a few hours, I'll be right back.'

Lin Ke let out a sigh of relief. Lily had been the closest to the explosion, so he had been worried about whether or not she had gotten hurt, but it seemed like she was fine. This then made Lin Ke think about a different question. Who was that lady? Why was she so powerful? Why was see-through? Why-

"I see you are awake." A voice suddenly calls out, interrupting all of Lin Ke's thoughts. It's a familiar voice, one he had heard all day yesterday, but unlike yesterday, Lin Ke turns with a hostile look.

Master Sal was sitting at a desk facing Lin Ke, who was on a sofa. Lin Ke stood up from the sofa and faced Master Sal with a cold look. "Why did you lock me in that… World Prison Art? I don't remember doing anything to offend you."

Master Sal has a sorry look on his face. "Ahh, I'm sorry, but it was because of what you saw. You saw my granddaughter's secret, and I couldn't risk that secret getting out into the world, so the best way to do that is to seal you away in a separate dimension. However, who knew that you had such a strong backing…"

Master Sal may have said this, but secretly, he breathed out a sigh of relief. He had contemplated straight up killing Lin Ke to silence him, but then decided against it as Lin Ke's background was too mysterious. A semi-divine tool and knowledge of that place? A commoner would never know and wield such things. In the end, he decided to lock Lin Ke in the World Prison. If he was able to break out, that meant he had ample backing and power, but if he couldn't, no harm done. What he didn't anticipate however, was the way his Prison was broken, and it still gave him a cold chill when Master Sal thought about it.

"Grandfather! Why did you imprison Lin Ke? I thought I said it was fine!" A voice calls out from behind Lin Ke. The door slams open, and Lin Ke turns around to see a very angry but still beautiful face walk in.

"Lin… Lin Ke?" Lia was surprised. She points at him unconsciously, and then realizes she was being rude and promptly lowers her hand. "I thought… I thought grandfather locked you up in his artwork… How are you here? Did grandfather release you?"

Master Sal sighs and stands up and walks over to the sofa opposite of Lin Ke. He sits. "Lia, come here, sit down. We have a lot to talk about…"
