The World Prison Art

With alarmed eyes, Lin Ke immediately glances over at Lia.

"Lia…" Lin Ke began. "Is that…"

Lia's eyes are glued onto the object. Slowly, she nods. "That's… that's grandfather's… It's what he used to lock you up. The World Prison Art."

Lin Ke blinks a few times. He could still vividly remember the power of the painting. "B-but… How did it get here? Why does the Artifact Hall all the way here in Vidensalle have it?"

Lia shook her head. "I don't know… but I'm going to get it!"

She wasn't the only one thinking that. The entire audience was staring at the painting in awe. The painting was quite simple, yet not at the same time. It depicted a scene of a mansion, large and elegant sitting in the middle of a neat green lawn. The entire painting gave off a surreal feel to it. It was magical, it was as if, by staring at the painting, one could feel the light breeze of the wind, the faint smell of the green grass, the warmth of the morning sun…

Yet they were still in the room. The dark room with no sun, the room without grass nor breeze. Yet they felt these things. How? This was a true masterpiece! It was an A-tier painting no doubt!!!

The painting was created on a scroll and it was rolled out to display the painting in its full glory.

The entire crowd basked in the aura of the painting, each one feeling refreshed and energized. It was unlike Lin Ke's artwork, which filled them with despair and sadness. However, even though they felt these complex emotions, none of them really felt the scene. It didn't feel as if the scene was coming alive in front of their eyes. Yet this one was. This was a true A-tier painting!

However, the thing many in the room didn't realize, was that this used to be a S-class painting… However, due to the haste at which this painting was created, it couldn't last very long when the creator wasn't in this world. This was why the painting degraded to A-tier. However, needless to say, it was still a higher quality A-tier painting.

"Now, I know you are all mesmerized by the painting, so let us begin with the auction! The starting price of this masterpiece will be 8 Mid-grade Chaos Stones! Each increase must be in intervals of at least 1 Mid-grade Chaos Stone. Please remember to be civil!!" Mike announces. He was trying his hardest not to be influenced by the power of the painting. Mike didn't turn around a single time to look at the painting, however, he could feel the World Energy swirling around him. It was extremely comfortable.

Immediately, offers began flowing in.

"8 Mid-grade Chaos Stones? I call 10 Mid-grade Chaos Stones!" Someone in the crowd shouts.

"I call 12!" Someone else counters while jumping up from his seat.

"13 Mid-grade Chaos Stones! This is all my fortune!" Another woman cries. "I need this painting! I've fallen in love with it!"

"Haha! Only 13 Mid-grade Chaos Stones? What sort of fortune is that? I have 14 Mid-grade Chaos Stones!" Another man calls out.

The room bursts into noise, all of them boisterously clambering to get their offers in. All of them were heatedly trying to one-up their opponents.

Lin Ke looked down at the scene and shook his head. Unfortunately, none of them were going to win this painting in the end. The one they were competing with was the Queen of Wealth herself, Miss Lia Quinn. This was the same person who stuck a Mid-grade Chaos Stone into a stove to use as fuel… Mid-grade Chaos Stones were all considered valuable cultivation materials, but Lia treated it as if it was random coal she found on the ground.

Lia was watching the heated crowd beneath her whilst twiddling her thumb. She appeared to be deep in thought, unable to remove her eyes from her grandfather's painting.

Meanwhile, the price of the artwork had already been driven up to 24 Mid-grade Chaos Stones. There were only a few audience members still competing for the masterpiece. Other than them, there were a few VIP guests fighting over it as well. One of the was the Old Man who was competing with the arrogant man in VIP Room #2 earlier.

One notable person who was not competing for this was Sekhit, the young man in VIP Room #2. He deeply regretted spending such a large amount of money earlier on the Supreme Soulstone. He was also bitter he had to spend so much in order to get the sketch that had been put on sale earlier. This painting before him right now was simply better than anything Sekhit had ever seen. However, there was nothing he could do. He simply didn't have the money on him. He also had no way of getting more money immediately…

Then, an idea occurred to Sekhit. Channeling his True Energy into the communication crystal, Sekhit allowed his voice to be heard throughout the entire auction room.

"30 Mid-grade Chaos Stones!" Sekhit calls.

"It's that rich guy from VIP Room #2!" Someone in the crowd says.

"Oh no, if he's set his sights on this painting, how are we supposed to have any chance?"

The Old Man, who was sitting in one of the VIP Rooms, raises a brow before speaking. "Youngster, are you certain you have enough money to afford that?"

"What does that guy mean? Don't have enough money to afford that? Who would dare do such a thing?"

"True, true! This old man must be joking! The punishment for doing such a thing is quite severe!"

"Hm, Old Man! My business is none of your concern! However, it is true that I truly do not have 30 Mid-grade Chaos Stones on me right now." Sekhit responds.

Hearing that, the crowd bursts into an uproar.

"What? Don't have the money but is still bidding? And openly admitting it too? What's going on in this guy's head? Does he not want to live anymore? Was life too boring without some action?"

"Who knows? Maybe his parents dropped him when he was younger?"

The audience was raging at this person's remark. Who was he to dare do this? Even if he was a VIP guest!

"Wait! While it is true that I don't have the money currently, that doesn't mean I don't actually have it! That is why… I am going to ask for your financial support!"
