Investigated For Fraud

"Alright, who would be willing to lend me, the Young Master of the Misint family, some Chaos Stones? I promise that those who aid me today won't be forgotten!" Sekhit says proudly the moment he reaches the stage.

"Young Master! I will lend you 5 Mid-grade Chaos Stones!"

"Me too, me too! I will as well!!!"

The audience goes wild, each person clambering to try and get a share of the free money doubling service that was this Young Master Sekhit. Even if they weren't able to truly win the painting, if they could walk away with a few extra Chaos Stones than they did when they entered, that would also be great.

"Alright, I have a limited budget, so there is no way I will be able to borrow from each and every one of you. That's why, I will have to randomly pick around 20 or 30 people from the crowd to borrow from." Sekhit shouts over the noise.

"We understand! Please pick me!" Someone else in the crowd shouts.

There was not a single person in the crowd who was not trying to make themselves more conspicuous and more likely to be picked. All of them were trying their hardest to get on Sekhit's good side, shouting various phrases and praises.

However, there was one person who was trying hard to hold in his laughter. And that was Lin Ke. Lin Ke was watching the scene below with an amused expression. Once this Sekhit guy finished borrowing, he would soon realize that he had made the worst mistake of his life! Not only would he not get the painting, but he would have to pay back an extra hundred or so Mid-grade Chaos Stones!

Lin Ke glances over at Lia, who was watching the scene with great interest. As if sensing Lin Ke's gaze, Lia glances over.

"Lin Ke… shouldn't we tell him that he's going to lose no matter what?" Lia asks. "He seems like he's going to be stuck in a lot of debt…"

Lin Ke sighs. "Normally, if it was some other person, perhaps. However, I think this guy deserves the lesson. Just from his attitude when speaking to the Old man he was bidding against earlier is enough to warrant this lesson. Not to mention how he's acting all high and mighty."

Lia blinks her long eyelashes a few times before turning back to watch Sekhit gather money. "Mmm. Okay then. I feel kind of bad for him though… Poor guy's going to lose his entire life's fortune!"

'Ah, Lia! Why are you so kind??? It makes you so much more cute!" Lin Ke thinks.

"Che, weirdo." Lily suddenly says in his head.

Lin Ke chooses to ignore her. Instead, he glances down at the stage, where Sekhit was wrapping up with his collecting of Chaos Stones. Each of the people he had borrowed from was given a slip of paper imprinted with some small text.

At this point, the people on the stage were dispersing and Sekhit himself stepped off the stage, a wide smile on his face. Confidently and with his chest puffed out, Sekhit walked up the aisles again and out of the main auction room to return to his VIP Room.

"Ehem…" Mike clears his throat. "Since we have finished with that small interlude, let us continue the bidding for the final product of today's auction, this masterpiece of a painting!"

"Earlier, young master Sekhit here had called 30 Mid-grade Chaos Stones, is there anyone willing to bid higher than 30 Mid-grade Chaos Stones?"

35 Mid-grade Chaos Stones!" The Old man from earlier interrupts.

"Cheh! OLD MAN!!! Do you really still think you stand a chance to win?" Sekhit roars out in anger. Even though he had the funds now, he would still appreciate it if he could spend as little as possible to secure this painting. He was hoping that after the crowd saw his large supply of Chaos Stones, they wouldn't dare to compete with him… however, it seemed like it wouldn't be that simple.

"40 Mid-grade Chaos Stones!" Sekhit immediately counters.

"45 Mid-grade Chaos Stones!" The old man says calmly.

"I've had enough! 60 Mid-grade Chaos Stones!!" Sekhit roars out in frustration.

Finally, the old man stopped matching Sekhit's calls. In a certain VIP Room, a man was sitting on the sofa, shaking his head while taking a sip of tea. "Youngsters these days… so shameless, so noisy…"

"Are there any other bids? 60 Mid-grade Chaos Stones going once!"

"60 Mid-grade Chaos Stones going twice!"

"100 Mid-grade Chaos Stones!" Suddenly, a voice cuts in. It's a different voice, a musical melodic female voice. That's right, it was Lia who cut in.

In VIP Room #1, Lia was gripping the Communication Crystal in her hand. She had finally begun bidding! She had been holding off because Lin Ke told her to wait. At first, she had been confused as to why they would wait. If they just shouted a number higher than anything that Sekhit could answer with, wouldn't it be done and dusted? Why did they need to wait? However, she still does as he says. There wasn't much of a difference in terms of waiting or not waiting.

Meanwhile, Sekhit had been all set and ready to pack things up here… He had thought he won this final painting already… But then, at the last moment, someone butt in,

"100 Mid-grade Chaos Stones!"

Those words reverberated through his head. 100 Mid-grade Chaos Stones??? That… which conglomerate would have that much money on them currently??? There was no way!!! They had to b-

"Ohhh! Our Honored guests from VIP Room #1 bids 100 Mid-grade Chaos stones at the last possible moment!!"

"..." Sekhit's eyes stared down at the stage angrily.

"100 Mid-grade Chaos Stones going once!"

"I… How… There's no way…" He mutters to himself.

"100 Mid-grade Chaos Stones going twice!!!"

"STOP!" Sekhit suddenly shouts. "There has to be something wrong here! I want this person to be investigated for fraud!!!"
