Arrival in Maseris

It was a bright sunny morning, the sun shined brightly on the snow that lay around in the streets. Although the sun was bright and the skies were a perfect shade of blue with no clouds nearby, the temperature was at a freezing low, the cold biting wind blowing over the sleepy city.

It was quite early in the morning, and not many people were out and about. On the main roads, the snow had been shoveled to the sides of the streets and slowly, the small town was beginning to stir.

At the gates to the city, two armed guards who were wearing heavy woolen cloaks stood guard, each holding a long spear, standing tall and erect. One of the yawned from tiredness.

"What a slow morning." The first guard said. He was slightly taller, and had a lean appearance. The second guard was a little more chunky, and packed a little weight in his stomach.
