Dying Dreams

The next morning when Lin Ke woke up he didn't move a muscle. He looked up at the bright blue sky, without so much as a single bulge. He stared blankly, his eyes glazing over. His eyes felt extremely dry and puffy from crying and he closed his eyes, putting an arm over them to get a little bit of cool relief.

He sat there blankly, not sure of what to do. Was there any reason to even keep going? Why did he have to keep going? There was clearly no way out, there was clearly nothing that he could do about this. Maybe he should just live out the rest of his life alone? Alone on this infinite grassland?

The more Lin Ke thought, the more that that seemed like the only option available to him.

"You're on your own now. There's no one here, Lin Ke. Stand up, stand up!" Lin Ke muttered to himself.
