That means his death.

Robin felt the threat. The thing is powerful enough to blow his mana palace.

Just when he felt that all his power is weak against the abnormal mutation of the Nether Flame and the darkness, he felt a new energy flow through his body.

This energy spread from with his soul. It is not something new to him. The energy that spread through increased the power of darkness.

Till now even as darkness tried to engulf the nether flame it couldn't because the amount of mana stored within him was enough to control a heavenly flame. That is also his body started to assimilate in the mana surrounding him.

But now the power of darkness rises and engulfs the flame because the Devil Soul awakens.
