I have delayed the time of taking its effect on anything by whatever I desire and that shall be what I use on the sword but since I do not know when Laraye will take the sword in hand, I will add another counter measure to it, make it so that if it touches blood it shall disintegrate in the next two seconds.

I use the spell with the little adjustments that I had made on a metal shard that I took from the on top of the table again.

I place the metal shard on to the sword and heat it up in the furnace, this will help that shard to properly attach itself to the sword.

The sword gets heated up and turns red in color. I take it out and take a good look at it.
