Nine Lives to Waste at Will

"There was something you wanted to try?" XueYa said as he took a seat on the frozen ground, ignoring the coldness that seeped through his robes and turned his limbs numb.

Their breath came out in vapours, the cold turning their lips blue, but XueYa's attention was all on Tu ShuYin. His zodiac books laid open on the ground between them, forgotten for now.

The rabbit shifter had pulled the furs and blankets to cover his naked body, his hair cascaded over his back like spilt ink, the blood-red irises studying XueYa with hesitation.

"I wanted to feed him my lifeforce," Tu ShuYin's calm, the melodic voice echoed in the silence. The long lashes fluttered as Tu ShuYin turned his gaze towards the ice coffin. "But the poison has spread too far. I don't know if it will help."

"He will die before the life force has the time to seep in."

Tu ShuYin's pupils quivered, but he said nothing.

It was the most curious situation.
