Truth be told, Fraley didn't have any expectations that her son, Neverio, was still alive. She attempted to swallow the thought, but it was eating her from the inside. 

Hearing Zarya's cries that were full of fear and grievance was a coup de grace for Fraley. The woman couldn't suppress her desire to cry with Zarya. She immediately covered her mouth and hugged the little girl from the back. 

In the meanwhile, Hanom looked at the two without a sliver of sympathy. He was just curious as to why they were shedding tears.

"Is that Neverio boy the next head of the Vaslavis Clan or something? Why are you that sorrowful about his death?"

Hanom didn't have the concept of sympathy integrated into his body. All of the things he had done so far, showing mercy for instance, was not out of sympathy but curiosity.
