Dorothea looked at Erwin, aghast at what he was saying. The woman simply shook her head, not knowing what to say to the old man.

On the other hand, Erwin began to pace back and forth. There was not a single thought in his head of abandoning the little girl. His promise was still intact and it was what's controlling him.

'I need to find a way to search the base of Zekhyr Morcus' group. The young one will definitely be there. I have to visit Bocahr Settlement first and find more information. There might be something there that can help me evade the berserks. Confronting them is out of the question.'

Soon enough, the old man halted his steps. However, he continued showing how anxious he was by repeatedly tapping his foot on the ground. He even started biting the nail of his thumb.
