Truth be told, Zekhyr, Karveshe, and Harton didn't let go of their suspicions on the maids. There was no way that the maids, who came out of the scene of the crime just seconds after the crime had been committed, would be free from suspicions that easily.

Yes, they were forced to be conspirators.

However, that didn't take away the fact that they contributed to the deaths of the two humans. From the moment he entered the room, Zekhyr was able to connect some coincidences.

No matter how thorough they were in removing the scent of the blood of humans on them, Zekhyr was far too capable for them to fool. The possibility of them getting away when they were wearing the scent of a single drop of blood was close to none.
