Taming the Hybrid

The Duchess knew that Ius hatred for Erwin didn't begin because of the most recent incident.

Truth be told, Ius had been opposed to many of Erwin's actions. The young man was already suspicious of the man's loyalty after hearing his opinion regarding the Urduhel Bout.

Rather than appeasing Ius, the Duchess left Ius to do his own thinking. She was not the type of person who would control her son's thoughts.

Be that as it may, she was regretting her lack of action regarding Ius' feelings.

"I don't care whether Erwin Pelt had been helpful to the clan all this time. A betrayal is a betrayal no matter how you would look at it." Ius said, taking a deep sigh thereafter, "Even if he had saved the world in his previous lifetime, I wouldn't pay half a Gold Coin to hear it again."

Cruel though he might have sounded, Ius was only being honest. He didn't want to lie in front of his mother. It would only create a riff in their already damaged bond.
