Romanoff Dukedom: Repentance (22)

Zarya found it difficult to open her eyes. Her eyelids felt so heavy. It was like they were bearing all her weight.

So, rather than forcing herself, she kept her eyes shut. In the first place, it was not only her eyes that were aching.

Her entire body felt as if she had taken a month's worth of beating. Every time she tried to move her joints, a sharp pain would visit her senses. Her muscles burned at every attempt of using them. Her throat was sore as well, cramping even when she was just trying to swallow.

Although, the most painful of all was her heart. The skull-splitting ache that visited her head couldn't be compared to it.

Zarya felt that her heart was having a hard time beating. It was like it had been sapped of its energy.

'What's wrong with me?' She asked herself, 'Did I overdo it? I should try and work less next time. It's not like the laundry would run away.'

The Lady sighed deeply, and again, and again.
