Romanoff Dukedom: Plan (34)

Rather than addressing the person, Herkel just ignored them and went on his way. He made sure their bodies wouldn't touch as he passed them by the narrow hallway.

Herkel was still nursing an afraid mind and stunned body. He was hardly able to take a step, but he had to take another without a delay.

And he was planning to confront the man guarding Ius' room in that state? Hoping to emerge victorious nonetheless?

Well, Herkel was not the sort of person to leave his victory to miracles. He knew when to back out. He knew when to pursue. But, this time, he was being especially stubborn.

After all, he had already resolved to meet Ius no matter what would happen. Even if the Elders sent an army to intercept the members of the League, Herkel would make a last effort to enter Ius' room.

If he died, it would be the elders' loss anyway. He believed that he had value as a warrior. That gave him the confidence that he wouldn't be killed that day.
