After what felt like an eternity, the woman in front of him chuckled. The laugh was sinister and full of evil intent. It sent shivers down his spine. He had no idea why she would laugh after hearing the love story of her fiancé with another woman, but he had a hunch it did not bode well for Andre.
He figured that the blue-eyed woman had appeared thus making Anai'ya curious. It was possible since it had been a while since she had paid him a visit.
"What else do you know of this woman?" She had an inkling that there was more to this woman then what both her uncle and this man had revealed so far.
"The woman is incredibly smart and scheming. Little girls always approached him growing up, the ones who were bold enough to express their feelings directly to him would mysteriously disappear. The Winfield's had dealings with the mafia and held powerful positions in government. Whatever she wanted was always given to her, there was no such thing as the word 'no' when it came to her." He said.
There were truths he had managed to keep from Anai'ya when she first started torturing him. Even under such excruciating pain, he was able to keep one crucial detail from her. One that would change her world.
His back was drenched in sweat, and his hands were clammy. His future would be much bleaker from here on out. The small reprieve he had enjoyed would be coming to an end if she pressed on.
"How interesting. She abused the power her parents had I assume?"
He nodded.
"What else do you know?" She asked uncrossing her legs and leaning forward to place her elbows on her knees. Her intense stare gave the man goosebumps.
He fretted about telling her the truth. He was now a cowardly man, he no longer wished to feel the slightest amount of pain. What he had suffered up until this point had already cracked his strong foundation, crushing it into nothing. He might not survive this time around. A small flicker of hope lived in his heart to one day escape this dreadful place. To escape her.
"That's all I know." His voice trembled slightly. His heartbeat accelerated as anxiety began building up inside him. Desperately hoping she would not pry into it any further.
"Is that so?" Her voice floated into his ears. It was light as a feather-like a small breeze on a calm day.
"Yes." He replied, his voice was laced with guilt.
Her eyes narrowed, the man was incredibly anxious he probably had no idea his body language had given him away.
Her patience had been tested twice in one day and she did not like it one bit. Her uncle raised her suspicion and he just confirmed it.
Her fingers itched to rip him to shreds. He was lying to her, she could hear it in his voice. First, her uncle refused to say much on that woman and now this wretched man was also keeping a secret from her. It was starting to drive her mad.
With her blood beginning to boil up a switch flipped inside her letting the maliciousness that hid behind her eyes flood in. The air around her plummeted even further causing the room to freeze. The warmth of the sun was being pushed out.
The monster inside was stirring, a bloodthirsty aura seeped out of her body surrounding the man on the floor. His entire body was wrapped in blanket of fear and trepidation.
He had angered her.
It was over. She knew he lied.
