Mr. Tang called Su Kai's grandfather right away to discuss the possibility of an engagement sooner rather than later. But to his surprise, he received a shocking piece of news. Apparently the Su Family had no idea that Tang Ning and Su Kai were an item.
"Grandfather Su, what do you mean?... I know that publicly they aren't an item but the children have grown up and are very familiar with one another. It's only right that they end up together, they just need a little push. My daughter is very well brought up and can equal any heiress out there with her charm and capabilities. If you, the head of the family tells your grandson to marry Ning Ning then he would. Unless of course you have a problem with my daughter?" Mr. Tang says.
"There is absolutely no problem with Ning Ning, infact I think she would make a wonderful wife. The only issue is that, I did make a promise to Su Kai awhile back, that he will have the right to choose his own bride and marry whenever he wishes. I have nothing against Ning Ning, but to be honest with you, I have asked Su Kai about his thoughts on marrying Ning Ning and he has mentioned that he only views her as a younger sister and nothing more." Grandfather Su says in a sad tone.
"What? How could that be?! I must ask him myself and try to figure out why he thinks this way.. perhaps I can convince him" Mr. Tang said adamantly. Obviously he is shocked by the conversation, never would he have imagined that Su Kai wouldn't be interested in his outstanding daughter. It was just impossible-!
Grandfather Su doted on his oldest grandchild the most out of all his grandchildren because he felt bad that Su Kai grew up without his parents. While everyone enjoyed the love and security that having two parents allowed, Su Kai had the opposite childhood. He was raised by his grandfather and the servants around him, although his grandfather loved him and doted on him he was also at the time busy running the company and did not spend quality time with the young Su Kai... which stunted his social skills.
As a young boy he was very smart and excelled in his studies, but he was quiet and kept to himself. It didn't help that his aunts and uncle were wary of him. They knew his father was the heir and would inherit the family seat. They were covetous of that position as each relative thought himself the right fit. Especially since power was a driving force for most people.
His grandfather valued talent above all else, so even if you were the second or last child in the Su Family, as long as you were business savvy then you had a chance at running the company. Unfortunately for his two aunts and two uncles they could never become as smart as Su Kai's father. He was in a league of his own and that brought alot of hate and envy that trickled down to Su Kai.
Poor child was bullied at such a young age by his own family, he had to learn quickly to shield himself from them and grow wings. He did just that by excelling and burying himself in books about business and finance. His hard work paid off over the years as his grandfather noticed his bright mind.
He was given an opportunity to shine and once that happened the rise of Su Industries sky rocketed to become one of the largest and well known company all over the world. His father brought the company nationwide status while Su Kai made it internationaly known.
Su Kai's phone rang, he stared at it and wrinkled his brows.
"Uncle Tang, what can I help you with?" Su Kai says.
"Hello my good boy, Uncle here just wanted to know if you had a minute to come out and have dinner with me?"
"Sure, send me the location"
Mr Tang arranged a family gathering between the Tangs and the Su families. Unbeknownst to Su Kai, he assumed that it was just a small gathering between the two of them. So he invited Liu Wei to tag along, she figured it was something important so she politely declined.
"But I want to spend some more time with you... I was hoping to take you out on a date today. Could you give me half an hour? you can wait in the bar area if you like." He said while hugging her from behind.
"Oh alright, but I want you to buy me something expensive later~!" She teased.
"Your wish is my command" He says as he kisses her on her head.
When they arrived at the restaurant, Liu Wei went directly to the Bar and ordered a cocktail. She started pondering over the mysterious man and debating when she should head over. After much deliberating she finally decided to go tomorrow night.
In the private room, Su Kai walked in to see Mr and Mrs Tang, Tang Ning and his grandfather. As you can surmise he was a bit taken back.
"Grandfather, what are you doing here?"
His grandfather nervously laughed and gave him an apologetic look... "same as you, to eat dinner..."
Su Kai's sixth sense was on tenterhooks and he had a feeling that something was about to happen. He wanted to make an excuse and leave but he didn't want to be rude to his grandfather. If he left, his grandfather would loose face.
The only seat left was between his grandfather and Tang Ning. She looked shy but excited and nervous at the same time.
"What took you so long Kai, here let me help you with your coat" she said as she reached out to him.
He smoothly side steps avoiding any contact and says "Ning, why didn't you tell me about this"
"What do you mean? Father said he was going to have dinner here so we all thought to just tag along" she smoothly lies.
Already he knew this was an arranged meeting for marriage talks. He needed backup so he covertly sent Liu Wei a message.
"I need you, Dining Room 2"
