[After Transition]
Wait a minute I think I remember that the message said 'Begin to Vanish' so could it be that this message was a warning about this case and the phrase 'The Shadows Will Vanish" means that they will be enveloped in light and the light it is talking about is the moon's light which is actually referring to Beethoven's 'Moonlight Sonata' which means for definite that this murder and the death of the mayor two years ago along with the death of Aaron Kane around ten years ago are connected and in both of the last two incidents 'Moonlight Sonata' was playing right up until Aaron Kane and previous Mayor Kingston died so in other words if the shadows will vanish again then that means that Beethoven's 'Moonlight Sonata' will be played again and someone will once more die again with it being Kevin Hale in this case and it says that the 'shadows will begin to vanish' which is plural and means there is more to this case and it is not over yet which means more deaths and since the killer seems to be fixated with the victims being placed at the grand piano in the community centre then I very well can't leave it alone and allow whoever it is to do whatever they want with it, I immediately turn around and start walking back to the community centre since I am not going to let that grand piano out of my sight and on the way back I begin to question just who sent that message and if it wasn't the killer themselves or someone else but I quickly realise on my way back to the community centre that it will be suspicious if no one knew where I was or what I was doing so I turn around again and get back on the path to my hotel making sure to greet as many people as I can and saying hello to the clerk at the front desk of the hotel and going into my room.
Once inside my room I put a 'Do Not Disturb' sign on the door and plump up some pillows and place them under the covers to make a human body shape and then I take some of the gadgets and knickknacks I brought with me and set up a few alarms for the room as well as a camera which I link to my watch and then I activate my invisibility and climb out of the window making sure to leave the thing unlocked and closing it with my adhesive touch before once again setting off for the community centre hopping and leaping over the rooftop buildings without a care since I was invisible and no one could see me so I wasn't long before I found myself back at the community centre and getting past the yellow tape, sneaking past the police officer and a few others who were still outside the building and getting through the locked doors was child's play making sure to keep all of the lights in the building off as to not alert anyone and while I could probably just ask the naive looking old police officer to let me in and stay to watch over the crime scene I don't have a proper official position to do something like that and so I must sneak around. what surprised me the most was that when I entered the room with the 'cursed' grand piano I noticed the fact that the deceased body of Kevin Hale was no longer sat at the piano but was actually moved to a corner of the room and laid out with a grey sheet covering the entirety of the corpse and wanting to know more about the situation and why the body was moved I use my enhanced hearing to eavesdrop on the people outside with an emphasise being on the police officer and I learn that the old policeman was actually the one who decided to move the body as he felt bad about leaving the deceased in such a position and now a couple of people outside are rebuking him for his actions as the crime scene hadn't been properly examined yet.
Deciding to not pay any more attention to the matter as what is done is done I decide to have another look around the room for anything I missed and I start with the main point of the room which is the grand piano and as I go to inspect it I immediately notice the fact that the sheet music I had found there earlier and left there was now missing and thinking that the culprit must have come back and stolen it for some reason I once again spread out my senses to see if I can spot anything unusual and I once again eavesdrop on the old police officer and learn that not only did he mess with the crime scene by moving the body of the victim but he also took the piece of sheet music with him and folded it up in his jacket pocket but right now that doesn't really matter much since with my intellect and intelligence I remember what was on the sheet music easily and deciding to actually do something with my time instead of just wait around like an idiot I grab a piece of paper from another room and begin to recreate the sheet music making sure to do every line and symbol to the exact specifications I remember going as far as to even make sure that every little speck or stain was also reproduced as much as can be and once I was done I had a recreated piece of sheet music, I quickly go onto my phone's search engine and take a picture of the sheet music and with the wonder of technology it began to search for anything remotely similar to it and it came up with the sheet music for Beethoven's 'Moonlight Sonata' which I suppose makes sense but what is weird is the fact that it didn't come up as a definitive answer but one of those little pop ups at the top that say 'Did You Mean?' which can only mean that there was some kind of mistake in what I searched but I don't know what that was and so I decided that to find out I would have to play the piece of sheet music myself to find out what is wrong with it and due to my brief stint being taught piano before my parents died I was familiar with the keys and yet I didn't know many pieces which is why the mistake isn't obvious to me.
Spreading out my sense I begin to scan in a 10 mile radius of my location which takes quite a lot of focus and concentration and once I've done it I find out that the old police officer and the other bystanders have all left the area and gone home so there was no one around and even then the people that lived nearby the community centre felt uneasy because of the murder and some underlying fear of the curse and so they moved to sleep at a friends or family members place tonight and so there is no one around to hear me play the piano and so I go up to the piano in the absolute dark and place the sheet music in front of me which I can see because of my night vision and I begin to play it but I stop and start quite a few times because not only do I hear the keys being played but I can also hear the mechanisms and parts inside the piano moving as I press the keys with my enhanced hearing and so I have to limit my senses so that I can properly hear the piece of music and find whatever mistake is in it and so with my senses dulled I begin to play Beethoven's 'Moonlight Sonata' and everything seems fine and the song sounds as it is meant to be but when I get to the forth line and I'm playing quite nicely getting into the mood I'm startled when suddenly the pitch and tone abruptly change and I immediately stop playing confused but when I look back at the sheet music I confirm that I played it exactly as it was written, which might mean this piece was potentially intentional and meant to be played like that for some reason and I begin to question if maybe this sheet music and it's forth line was maybe a dying message or something from Kevin Hale though I don't know how that would be possible since he was drowned at sea or how would he have the time to perfectly write some sheet music but anyhow this sheet music is a crucial part of this mystery which means the killer might return to steal it and it is with the old police officer right now.
Suddenly I hear the door behind me open and the light switch on and when the light switched on I suddenly realise that I was completely visible again which must've happened when I was dulling my senses which is the reason that whoever this person is was able to sneak up on me and is no doubt staring at me sitting in the position where the body used to be playing the cursed song Beethoven's 'Moonlight Sonata' on the cursed grand piano and so I look a hell of a lot suspicious right now, knowing I have to turn around and face my witness I spin round only to be surprised by who I see. "Wait, Alex? Hey, what are you doing here?" I question as I'm surprised by the figure of Doctor Alex Nichols standing in the doorway still dressed the same as she was at the memorial earlier today but this time, she has a green bag with her which presumably has some things in it, though she looks surprised to see me she takes it in stride. "Oh, I didn't think anyone else would be here. I accidentally locked myself out of my house and so I had nowhere to go and I know that the community centre is usually unlocked so I was planning to stay the night here and I picked up some food for myself on the way here. I heard someone in here and so I came to check it out, what are you doing here?" She asks answering my question and then turning it back around on me, not wanting to seem suspicious or anything I start to tell her a little bit of what I think is going on giving enough to justify my reason for being here and sat at the piano as well. "Well, I couldn't sleep thinking about this murder and so I came back to see if I missed anything like a clue or something. Since this sheet music was still here, I decided to see what everyone was so fussed about and so I began to try and play it though it didn't work properly as some keys are off tune, and then you came in and took me by surprise. More important is how much food did you bring with you, and are you willing to share?"
Smiling at me she takes a seat directly in the middle of the room on the floor lazing out on the ground and beginning to rifle through her bag, taking that as the invitation that it was, I get up from the piano and move over to join her on the floor, I am actually hungry since I haven't eaten since I got off of the ferry...
