[AT] White Powder...

[After Transition]

"In any case, gather all the suspect at the village office. We are going to interview them again and this time we aren't going to be so nice, after all two murders have happened on our watch and I can only imagine what the commissioner is going to say about this one." Harvey tells his subordinate who immediately runs off out of the room to fulfil his orders as the rest of the people begin to follow Harvey as he leads them out of the room leaving me and the unconscious man alone in here, ignoring the knocked-out Michael Shaw I move towards the piano because this piano seems to be the centre of everything that is happening on this island and there is something wrong with it and so I am going to investigate it and find out just what kind of secrets it holds.

I might not have been able to see just who the figure in here was because they were fully covered up but I could at least see what they were up to or I would have been able to if Harvey didn't come tumbling in behind me and pulling me to the floor with him so I couldn't see exactly what they were doing but from the brief glimpse I saw the suspicious person was doing something near the piano before I interrupted them and they fled through the window and so I want to resume what they were doing and so I get on my knees  and crawl under the piano because the culprit was searching the bottom of this piano before they made a break for it so I think there might be something crucial underneath the piano aside from the gum that seems to be on the underside of everything in existence.

Looking up at the underside of the piano I am surprised to see a lack of bubble gum or any other sort of sticky things on it which goes against the universal law of this world but then I am reminded that this thing was supposedly cursed and so nobody ever got close enough to it to stick anything underneath it which works for me as it makes my job less disgusting as I start to press my hand against the underside of the piano and start feeling around looking for something because the underside of the piano is clean and there is nothing that looks suspicious or out of place there but the suspicious figure was messing about under here and so there must be something which is the reason why I continue to roam my hands about the underside of the piano looking for anything at all making sure to feel any groves and pressing lightly upon the underside in case there is anything out of place or something hollow.

I continue to move my hands and get a mild surprise when suddenly when one of my hands goes up into the piano slightly pushing a loose piece that fit perfectly up into it and I push a bit more expecting it to continue but I feel resistance instead and not wanting to ruin any evidence or break the contraption I instead try to push the loose piece in some other direction since I know it doesn't move up and moving it down would be going backwards and so I push the loose piece forward and it moves like the part of a computer desk that holds the keyboard going back in and opens a slot for me tom look into but I cannot get a good glimpse at my current angle and so I shuffles forward to get a better look placing my hand against the ground as I do so but I feels some kind of dust or something on my hands and so I bring it close to my face for closer inspection as you do when you feel like you pressed into something unknown but I am surprised when I bring my hand to my face to get a closer look, if this is what I think it is then it could be, but then in that piano compartment...

"Judging by the methods used in the three murders that have taken place on this island we are almost certain that they have all been committed by the same person, that might seem obvious to some but nothing is certain which is why we are not 100% sure that they are all committed by the same person because there is always a chance that we have missed something and we do not have all the facts. That said, we are however 99% sure that all of these murders have been committed by the same person." It is a while later that everyone has gathered again in the village office even though it is late at night but I am distracted because after what I have found I can't help but think that something is wrong but I do not know what and all I know is that something is not right because ever since I saw that code that had been left at the second crime scene I have felt that something is strange but I can't figure out what and it is just niggling at the corner of my just out of sight like those little spot of colour you get after rubbing your eyes really hard but every time you look at it it moves away which describes this thing in my mind which I am just on the edge of but remains annoyingly out of my reach, before I can manage my thoughts and figure just what is wrong one of Bullocks men comes in and I pay attention because this guy is a forensic scientist and he wouldn't be coming to Harvey if he didn't have anything for him and I notice a suspicious brown envelope grasped in the man's hands which must be what he is delivering to Bullock.

"Detective Bullock, the photos we had taken of the crime scene of Karl Tate's murder have finally been developed. We are still waiting on the other photos for the other crime scenes but they should be done soon, in a few hours at most." The crime scene technician tells his superior officer on site, Harvey does not look too fussed with the images which I guess I can understand since he was at the crime scene moments after the crime actually happened and he seems like a man that trusts his eyes and distended gut more than photographs and technology. "Hmm, ah good job. Could you just uh, just go and lay them out over there, thanks. Doctor Nichols, is Michael Shaw still unconscious?" ignoring the conversations happening I walk over to where the crime scene technician is taking the photos out of the brown envelope and laying them out on the table because I pretty much know everything else going on right now such as the fact that Michael Shaw is still unconscious and his fiancé Karina Tate is currently looking after him but I will keep an ear out just in case but right now I am more interested in these photos because while I trust my eyes and senses just as much as Harvey apparently does I also know that things can be missed and sometimes things are overlooked which is why I am checking out these photos and abiding by what Batman taught me when it comes to investigations which is to constantly review everything you know while disregarding it at the same time and never trust anything you know but follow all of the clues which is very fucking confusing but I have to follow all these rules to make sure I get the right killer and Batman says that even he sometimes finds it difficult to follow all these rules but if you do follow it properly you will be infinitely closer to solving your investigation.

I stand next to the crime scene technician as he lays out the photos and while he notices my presence he ultimately chooses to ignore me because all of Bullock's men have been told by the man himself that I am helping him on the case and to allow me unfettered access for some reason and while nearly all of them are annoyed by it they know better than to question Harvey so they choose to instead ignore me and I don't care much as I means they won't get in my way, I look at the photos laid out on the desk but ii take particular note of one photograph showing the back of Karl Tate's bloody head as he lays against the controls in the broadcast room and I notice  something shining by the dead man's neck and so I look at a photo of the control board in the broadcast room after the body has been removed but I don't see the shining thing there anymore which means it must have disappeared after the body was moved.

"Excuse me, Detective Bullock? I am thirsty, could I please go buy something to drink from the vending machine outside?" Harold the aid asks Harvey and Harvey not really caring tells him he can but when I look over towards them I notice that the left hand of Harold is bandaged up and I think there might be some blood underneath those bandages which is highly suspicious and so after Harlod has left the room I go to follow him and walk outside the building to find him pulling a silver coin out of the wallet he holds in his left hand and then putting that silver coin into the vending machine and choosing one of the drinks to drop down and as he moves to pick up the drink I appear next to him startling him, before he can do anything else and question why I am here I say something to take him of guard as well as test the waters. "Hey there man, you've got some sort of white powder on your sleeve. Might want to clean that up before you go back in, what with the police and all and their aversion to white substances." Reacting to my words he quickly pulls his right hand that was reaching for the drink back up to his face whilst letting out a worried grunt and looking at the front of his wrist before turning it to look at the back and then he switches and looks at the back of his left hand before switching to look at the front of his left hand and dropping the wallet he was holding in the process allowing some silver coins to scatter across the ground, I take a closer look at the coins on the ground and I realise that they are all foreign coins which is weird to have.

"Wow, that is a lot of foreign coins. Is that your hobby or something, collecting coins? I've tried finding my hobby but I just can't find anything that I really enjoy to do on a regular basis, I've tried sports and games and stuff and I enjoy them but not to the level of a hobby." Harold quickly bends down and starts picking up the silver coins and depositing them back into the wallet, he finishes picking up the few coins quickly and then walks off not even taking the drink he just bought with him only leaving me with some words. "I like foreign coins." That is all he said to me as he picked up the coins and then ran off in a hurry and I am about to walk off after him when I hear someone call my name and I turn to see the old police officer jogging towards me and stopping just in front of me and then taking a breath with his hands on his knees, I take notice oof the brown envelope in his hands which he is clutching tightly as he regains his breath and once he finally does he reveals to me the reason for his excitement and his breathlessness. "I finally found the sheet music Aaron Kane left behind; I knew it was there! You doubted me and thought I was senile, but I was right and my mind might be old but it is sturdy."

Not caring about the words, the old man is spouting I quickl run up to him and snatch the brown envelope from his hands before turning around and opening it up to see its contents and am pleasantly surprised to see that it is another coded message, using the same code I read aloud the first sheet of music. "Hmm, 'To My Son Sam'. I thought that Aaron Kane only had a wife and a daughter who he took with him in the fire when he died, he has a son as well?" Things are getting interesting, that's for sure...
