Encounter (1)

Sitting quietly in the moving car with the window rolled down, Shuliyan basked in the mild sunlight. She could feel her restlessness and anxiety bubbling underneath the calm surface. She kept taking deep breaths all the way. Arriving at the library, Shuliyan repeatedly assured the "bodyguard" that she'll be fine on her own and to wait for her outside. After shooing him off with difficulty, she finally stepped in. She was immediately hit by the old wooden smell of books. Hmm.. it smelt like Mother Earth. She was intoxicated. She closed her eyes for a moment to take it in, and she could feel herself relaxing with every breath. How wonderful. Opening her eyes, she looked down at the carpets that were made thick and comfortable so the sound of footsteps won't disturb the people reading. 'I wonder if it's allowed to sit down on the floor?' She subconsciously walked over to the clerk. "Hello, I would like to get to the psychology section please"

The clerk was a benevolent looking woman, looking at Shuliyan's young age, she was very surprised. Very seldom would young people get interested in such a complicated sucject. She immediately got a favorable impression of her.

"It's right upstairs at the left hall, you'll see it once you get there"

"Can I sit on the floor..?" She asked sheepishly. She was well aware of the abnormality of her request. The old lady was stunned for a while only for it to turn into excitment. There was actually another weirdo *cough* someone else who also prefers the floor !

"It's usually not possible but since you're heading upstairs and there are very few people, I can make an exception" She handed her a soft cushion. "Actually there is another boy who also really prefers the floor, so I prepared these cushions for him back then" Said the old lady with a reminiscing tone.

Shuliyan was a bit curious in her heart about this person but didn't engage the old lady any further. She flashed her a grateful smile and went up.

She picked up what she felt to be easy to understand for beginners and made herself comfortable on the cushions.

*Tick*Tock

The sound of the antique clock ticking and the occasional flipping of pages was the only sound reverbrating throughout the giant hall.

Huo Jinchuan was in an extremely turbulent mood today. His body giving off intense pressure walking towards the parking lot as his assistant followed behind him. It seems like that woman is getting restless again, to have costed him such a huge loss. Very well, he sneered. Might as well use this chance to get rid of any remaining bugs that she managed to plant by his side. He had let down his guard this time and lost to that guy Zhao Sheng. He will have to make some arrangements in the future. Getting in the car, he rubbed the space between his eyebrows tiredly. " To the library"
