Encounter (3) & The Mysterious Storage Space

"Aunt Jiang, I'm going up now"

"Of course, you can stay as long as you want, when dinner's ready I'll call you"

The house was right next to the library for convenience's sake so it would only take her 5 minutes to reach here.

"Okay" he replied before walking away.

When Jiang Ma remembered the little girl that was still there, his figure was already gone. She hesitated before deciding to just let it go. He doesn't interact with anyone outside his little bubble usually, so it would be good for him to reach out to someone with similar interests.

Just as Huo Jinchuan proceeded to sit in his favourite spot by the window, he felt someone else's presence by the windows in the opposite corner. No one else knew, but his sense of smell is very sharp. He could faintly smell a sweet scent in the air that is distinct from the familiar smell of books. He couldn't see them through the shielding bookshelfs but he could tell that it was a female scent. It's the first time he smelled anything like it. No he might have..? But he couldn't remember. He didn't care enough to go see who it was, so he flipped open his book and started to read. However, he soon couldn't concentrate at all. This scent was really distracting. He wanted to move closer so he could inhale more of it, and he did just that.

As he approached, he could see the girl's side figure clearly. Her overall temperament is beautiful and has a subtle gentleness to it. Her petite body was sunken into the soft cushions. Holding a thick book with both hands, some of the girl's silky long hair was tyed up casually into a bun while most of it hung down losely just above her waist. Her thin rosy lips were tightly pursed and her eyebrows were locked into a frown as though she was trying hard to understand something. She wore a jeans blue skirt that was slightly lifted due to her sitting posture, revealing long slender legs. And the smell. Oh this smell was driving him crazy ! As he moved closer, it got thicker and thicker, and he could feel himself reacting down there. What the fuck is going on, that's clearly just a little girl barely sixteen or seventeen ! His heart was in turmoil but he still stood there calmly, rooted in place. He watched her for a long, long while.

Shuliyan looked at the time and realized that it was already so late, she needed to go home already. She shouldn't overdo it so her grandfather will allow her to come here again. Kneading her stiff neck and shoulders, she felt that whatever brain cells she had were fried by the difficulty of these new concepts. Just as she was about to stand up, she had the feeling of being peeped on. It was like being locked onto by a pair of deep, penetrating eyes. Looking around, she couldn't see anyone nearby. Could it be her imagination? She decided not to care about it and proceeded to walk down to the second floor.

Coming out of his hiding place, Huo Jinchuan watched the girl's retreating back. His gaze was scorching hot, his eyes like a bottomless abyss, and no one could tell what he was thinking.

After Shuliyan went down, she looked for the book's previous placement. She was very regretful that she couldn't take it back home. To do so, she needed to register with her id card, which she obviously didn't have. In her last life, the only time she managed to get a hold of it was when she went abroad for a while. Sigh. She REALLY wanted to take this book with her.. Huh? Shuliyan saw the book disappear right in front of her. Repeatedly blinking her eyes, she thought she was hallucinating. How could it simply vanish like this?! Feeling her empty hands, she checked her surroundings for any trace of the book but couldn't find anything. It's as though it disappeared into thin air. No it DID disappear into thin air !!! What's going on?! She thought her own rebirth and the fact that this world is based on a novel is already unscientific enough. As a result, things are disappearing now..

Just as she was wondering about where it could have gone, she was suddenly hit by a bout of dizziness, and found herself in a huge snow white space. It wasn't actually her, but her consciousness. It was so big that she could barely see the end of the walls. The book that she was just holding was sitting there on the white floor. Shuliyan's deer-like eyes widened in surprise ! That.. Isn't that a storage space as they described in those novels? She actually got a golden finger of her own?! She could feel her heartbeat rising out of excitment and her cheeks getting hotter. She suddenly couldn't hold back anymore and squealed in delight !

The biggest trouble she had was that her bank cards were all controlled by her grandfather, and it wasn't convenient to carry around cash especially if it's a huge sum of money. She had no idea where to hide it either. Now she no longer has to worry about this at all. Her eyes were sparkling with joy at this thought !

It took a long time for her to finally calm down. Now, how does she get out of here..? She was suddenly hit by a thought, she could simply concentrate her will, and she'd be able to get out. It was a very familiar thought, like she already knew about it in some distant past and had done it countless times..

Moving out of her storage space, she decided not to take the book with her, lest she gets discovered when the clerk checks in later. She didn't want to lose this almost "secret haven" like place.
