Outrun The Truth

"Meraki! Look! A fountain." Leo suddenly said, taking my hand and pulling me to the fountain where Aurora and Adan waited, talking to each other in hushed tones. Caris followed after us calmly but his eyes remained on the store clerk.

"Meraki. There you are." Aurora said, smiling at me but that smile disappeared once she saw how pale I had become and the way I grabbed onto Leo's hand like my life depended on it. "What happened?"

"Nothing," I said, quickly as he was about to open his mouth to speak. "Nothing happened. Let's buy what need to and go back."

"Hello, I am Mary." A woman came up to me and smiled pleasantly, calming my nerves almost immediately. "What is it that you wish to buy here, young miss?"

I turned around and looked at Aurora who hurried over to me and smile, "Yes?"

"What is it that you want to buy?" She asked, smiling at her. "I will take you to where you wish to go."
