"You all certainly put up a very good fight," he said, laughing with a smile that seemed too big for his face. "But it is all futile now."

"And why is that?" Lake asked, wet hair sticking to his face as I caught a little glimpse of his eyes. They were all white; iris, pupil and all.

"Even if you try what you can to protect her, she is already as good as dead." He said, laughing.

"What makes you think that?" Adan asked, frowning at the man as the water finally stopped. Our hairs are dripping wet but the two are dry like it was not just raining indoors.

He laughed even louder making me cover my ears, "Ouch."

"She is poisoned. Soon she will just drop to the ground dead ... in about five minutes." He said, looking at the watch on his wrist, laughing again.

"Ye-" I quickly grabbed Caris's arms to stop him from talking.
