"Now, shut up and take your seats; the class is starting now." The woman waited a little for all the students to arrive; enrollment took a while because there were numerous children aspiring to become ninjas.
"As you are aspiring ninjas, you will learn the basics of the basics in the first few years, of course. If any of you excel or have already learned what should be taught in your respective year, you will automatically advance to the next year. Any questions?"
"What will our grades be based on?" asked some future cannon fodder.
"I'll pass out the sheets at the end of the class, but since you asked, I'll do it now." Searching for specific sheets, she began distributing them during the class.
Receiving my sheet, I couldn't help but raise my eyebrow; this seemed much more challenging than shown in the anime. Well, Danzo must not have ruined the ninja academy's curriculum yet.
The subjects we would be learning throughout the year were:
{During the morning}
Taijutsu - Taijutsu - Physical Exercise - Village History - Geography - Basic Chakra Manipulation.
{In the afternoon}
Ninjutsu Theory - Genjutsu Theory - Science - Basic Traps - Mathematics - Calligraphy.
And at the end of the class, there would be some Taijutsu sparring to put theory into practice.
It seemed much tighter than I imagined; I thought it would be just some basic exercises, bumping into each other, and then dozing off in class. Seems like schools will always be boring in every universe. My plans are ruined!
I turned my gaze to a Nara. He seemed to notice my distress and gave me a look of recognition and camaraderie.
"At least someone understands my pain; I'm not alone!" With a triumphant sigh, I relaxed, feeling like I had a partner to sleep in class and share the burden.
"Comrade in culture, what's your name?" With so much camaraderie, we had to be blood brothers!
"Shiba Nara, nice to meet you, Hatake-san," said the young man with a slight smile. He, too, didn't expect to find someone like him in the class.
Shiba Nara had straight hair tied in a ponytail, similar to Shikamaru's; the only difference was that he didn't have a pineapple, it was smooth as silk.
"Now let's move on to math class," said the teacher.
"Why math?"
"Exactly, ninjas don't use math."
"Just spit fire at them."
"Math is for nerds."
"QUIET!" The jonin shouted, it was the first day, and these kids were already driving her crazy. She swore to herself that she would find a fool to take her place.
After silencing everyone, the teacher began teaching math to the others. Eiji looked disinterested; after all, he had much more important calculations to make. And what was that? Of course, his future! And let me tell you, it's quite complicated.
Opening his notebook, he started writing furiously on the page; everyone thought he was diligently studying.
|Kakashi-5
Obito-8
Rin-8
Shusui-1
Itachi-Not born yet.
Minato: Nobody cares. :(
In fact, he was calculating the ages of some important figures he needed to prepare for. By knowing their ages, he would have an idea of when the next war was coming.
So, he continued his hypothesis.
When Kakashi joined Minato's team, they probably had this age (who knows, he wasn't omniscient).
This was the basis he had more or less; he recalled that when the Third Great Ninja War happened, Shusui also took part in it, obtaining his Sharingan through his friend's death, so he must have been around 7-8 years old at that time.
Logically speaking, he should have participated in a C or D-rank mission, delivering and providing food or any other necessary materials.
During the Third Great Ninja War, Team Minato and others must have been this age.
Kakashi - 10 years and a few months after becoming a jonin.
Obito - 13
Rin - 13
Shusui - 8 years.
Minato: You should try to have your child already, you eunuch.
Itachi - 3 years.
Shusui at that time was already a genin, so he probably wasn't wrong... And what about Itachi? The war lasted for months. It was confirmed that Itachi only went to war when it was already over, when he was 4 years old.
"From what I remember, Minato's team stayed in the village training for months before joining the war because Minato tried to delay it as much as possible to ensure his students' 'safety.'"
Itachi was taken by Fugaku when he was 4 years old to see what the war was really like, although Eiji thought he shouldn't have done that.
"So, calculating here and there, we should have another 5 to 7 years of peace. But why do I feel like I'm forgetting something? Who cares? If I forgot, it can't be important." His logic made perfect sense to him, and Eiji was content with being so logical.
Noticing his brother wasn't paying attention in class, Kakashi couldn't help but be curious and asked, "Eiji-ni, what are you writing about?" He said with a questioning look; nothing coming from his brother was good.
Taking Eiji out of his thoughts, he turned to Kakashi and said with all honesty, "I'm calculating our future."
To which Kakashi just gave a strange look and didn't care anymore.
"If you don't want to say, then don't say, you idiot."
"Hey, you white-haired kids down there, is it so much fun to talk in my class?" The teacher asked, clearly annoyed.
Pointing to the board, she ordered, "Quickly calculate this division and this multiplication here, you brats."
"Teacher, why are you targeting me? My scarf is much cooler; Kakashi is the culprit here," Eiji complained, using Kakashi as a scapegoat.
"I have nothing to do with it," Kakashi ruthlessly threw Eiji to the wolves.
"Bastard..."
"I don't want to know who started it; answer quickly, or both of you will be punished." The jonin demanded, already losing patience.
Eiji looked at the board and saw the most basic problems and involuntarily rolled his eyes.
"Ah, it's too hard for you? I didn't faint, please." The teacher clearly noticed his actions and came to taunt him.
'Oh, are you coming at me? Alright then.' Eiji couldn't help but internally make a Jojo pose.
5×5 =?
15 ÷ 3 =?
"Hmnnn, this is so easy; I can get it right without calculating," Eiji said smugly. The jonin agreed that it was easy, but almost none of the kids got it right, especially on the first day of class.
"This brat must be kidding."
"Answer me now, or you'll stand in the hallway holding a bucket."
"The answers are 25 and 5, satisfied?" He said with a cheeky smile,
though the jonin didn't see it due to the scarf.
"That's correct; make sure to pay attention in class, otherwise, I'll make it even harder for you."
Sitting and sighing, I couldn't help but complain, 'This is going to be a tough year here.'
Kakashi gave me a thumbs up with his hand under the table.
'You betrayed me, you son of a bitch, I'll eat all your candies.' Eiji was already thinking of evil plans for revenge.

3 weeks later.
"Kakashi, Eiji. I have an urgent mission from the Hokage. I might not be back for a few days. Take this money in case you need to buy anything, understood?" Sakumo didn't want to go on this mission and leave his kids alone, but it was an important and urgent mission.
"Do you really have to go on a mission now, Dad?" Kakashi asked; he had heard some comments from other people who lost their parents during a mission in the war, and he didn't want to lose his father.
"Yes, Kakashi, I'm leaving right away. Take care of yourselves," he said with a gentle smile and hugged his two children.
Sakumo stood up, satisfied with the farewell, and left the house. His face changed drastically from a modest and gentle person to someone rigid and stern, a skilled ninja on the battlefield, White Fang in Konoha!
"I love you both, take care," he murmured softly in their ears.
"We love you too, Dad."
And that's when Eiji remembered something.
"THAT'S IT, I FORGOT ABOUT HIS MISSION, DAMN IT!" Eiji shouted in his mind, upset with himself for forgetting something so important.
