Mansion of the ancients Part 2.

Only the two of them was staying in the room. Flinn began to explain, how the mansion works.

"It is pretty simple actually. You just have to think about the place you want to go, before you open the door, but you can only access diferent rooms from specific rooms."

"That's simple?"

"Yes. Although there are rules, or more like laws with this magic."

Flinn gave Joseph a little pin, which looked like a steel scroll.

"This will alow you to enter the entrance, the hallway, the library, the spa, the dining room, your room and finally my office. You can enter all of the places from the hallway and via versa. But from your room and the entrance you can only go to those two places, or the hallway. Also you only have access to this door that leads outside. This way there won't be any misunderstanding."

He had a headache from listening to all of this.

"I think I understand the basics, but I'll have to write down all the places this house have, to memorize them."

"You can use all of the paper and ink in your room for anything you want. Also the spa is open for mens from 9 pm. Before that it's woman's turn, you can't access it in that time, so you don't have to worry about accidentally going in, but it's better to know about it."

Joseph wasn't really sure what to say, so he put on his pin meanwhile. It looked good on his suit.

"Right where it belongs."

"Tommorrow you'll have to come to my office at 8 am, but for now you are dismissed."

"Alright!"

Flinn started to walk to one of the doors.

"Actually! Wait!"

Flinn stopped and looked around.

"Yes?"

"I forgot to ask this, but I have not seen any clocks in the house. How do I know the time."

Flinn looked somewhat supprised.

"I thought you allready know some lesser spells. But then it can't be helped. I'll send a servant to your room an hour earlier."

"Thank you!"

Flinn just waved at him and walked in one of the rooms.

'I'm not that tired. I should write down everything and then head to the library... What time is it anyway?'

He opened the front door and looked out. It was dark allready.

'That did not help.'

He closed the door and went into his room. He wrote down everything he ned to know about, then headed to the hallway.

There where maids and fairies walking in and out of the hallway, he headed to an other door, then the one he came in and opened it to the library.

The place was huge, filled with giant bookshelves, which had countless of books on them. The library had three floors, each connected with staircases and he could look up in the middle to the top of the room. The bookshelves in the middle went from the ground to the ceiling, while the ones on the walls were different ones on each floor. All of them had ladders on it's sides. And on the ground and the floors there were tables with chairs.

As he walked in he saw a young elf boy sitting at one table and reading. he had short black hair and fine clothings.

'Hmmm... It's strange. I did not see him in the dining room.'

As he walked closer to one of the bookshelves, he looked at the books. They were all in a different language than english.

'Maybe they are in elven or something? Wait! That reminds me. Did Flinn get the message. Also where are all my stuff?'

As he was poundering and looking at the books, he noticed one of the books was english. It's title was Hearth of demons.

'Maybe it's something about how demons's hearth functions?'

He tried to pull it out, but it was stuck. Then he heard the voice of a kid from behind him.

"You can't just pull the books out. You have to use magic to do it."

As he looked back he saw the kid still reading. He didn't even look up while reading.

"I see. In that case could you help me? I can't really use magic yet."

The boy extended his hand and the book flew out from the shelf into his hand.

"Here."

"Thank you!"

He sit down at the same table opened it up and started to read it.

The book wasn't about what he thought. It was actually about a demon and an elf, who fell in love with eachother. Despite everyone opposing them, they still insisted on the love they had. Then the demon pretend to be dead and the elf killed himself because he couldn't live without his love. When the demon cames to her senses, she sees his love dead and kills herself as well.

'What is this? It's just like that old story by Shakespeare... At least it was fun.'

He looked at the boy, who was still reading the same book.

'Maybe he is learning?'

"Excuse me for interrupting, but do you know the time?"

"It is about 10 pm."

"Then I should take my leave. Thank you again! I'll see you again!"

He didn't say anything back. So Joseph tried to put the book back, but it didn't go in. When he looked at the boy, he allready put the book back from his hands. He didn't want to disturbe him anymore, so he just noded and walked out of the room back to the hallway. He changed his clothes then went to take a bath.

The spa was big as well. It looked just like the ancient greek ones that he saw in books. A wide hallway with a pool at the end, where it opened up into a bigger room. It was filled with warm water. On the sides of the hallway were buckets, which was probably to wash of themselves after the spa.

There were servants in the spa, they had towels around their hips, so he did the same thing and joined in. They seemed to ignore him. They were speaking in a different language, so he didn't even understand it.

After a while he got out and washed himself off then headed back to his room to sleep.
