In the morning they met up with Father Dan. He led them to the lake again and they started to practice once again. They stayed there for a week before they decided to move on. They said their goodbyes to Helen and started to travel on the road once again.
After half a day walking they left the forest and found themselfes on a big field filled with hills across it. Joseph sighed.
"A change of enviroment finally. I was a little bit tired of forests and prairies."
Catherine laughed.
"What? That's all the places you were living so far?"
"For quiet a while yes. Also there was the swamp. But I would not want to go there again. If there is a chance for that."
"I'll definetly go back there once I'm back to my power. But until that I hope we can find interesting places."
Joseph smiled.
"Yes. I hope as well."
After a few hours of travelling they ran into a cross road. One of the signs said Krishmar, but the other one was broken off. The only thing they could get from it was something fort. Joseph looked at that way, but saw nothing from the hill next to them.
"Well. We don't need to go that way anyway. Let's head to Krishmar."
Catherine noded silently.
They followed the road and walked from one hill to the other, until they heared horses gallop from behind. As they turned around they saw two soldiers in armor with a mark of two swords in cross. They were runing away from what it seemed a black dragon. Joseph got really scared.
"What do we do? They are leading that dragon in our way."
Catherine laughed.
"Dragon? That's just a wyvern!"
As Joseph looked at it he saw that it only got two back legs and two wings and it wasn't longer then a bus.
"Right. It only has two legs and too small for a dragon. But that's still dangerous!"
"Not for me!"
She held her staff in front of her and a yellow ball, that was just as big as a football, formed in front of it. She moved her staff around it in clockwise motin and it turned into a more cone form. She hit it from behind with a big swing and it flew towards the wyvern.
The wyvern was too busy with the soldiers and did not notice the magical bullet flying towards it. It's head blow up when the spell hit it and it fell down from the sky. When the smoke from the explosion died down the wyvern's body was on the ground headless.
The soldiers didn't slow down even though the danger was taken cared off. When they passed them they shouted.
"Thank you for your help. But we are in a hurry. Come to Krishmar if you want to get rewarded. We'll make sure the captain of the Watchers will know about it!"
Then as fast as they came they went away. Joseph was looking after them.
"I'm curious about what is going on."
"Seems like they are fighting something that had a wyvern."
Catherine happily walked to the dead body.
"This is a very good material. I think it will be good for a few potions and an armor as well. Hell maybe even for a weapon."
"And how do you plan to take this with us?"
"Watch and learn."
She drew a circle around it, then touched the circle and closed her eyes. The body started to eminate blue light, then it disappeared.
"Did you brake this one down as well?"
"No! I put it into my dimensional storage. I ned to open up a smal portal for this size, but it worked just fine."
She held her left arm out and Joseph saw a crackle in the air. A window like hole opened up. On the other side there were a bunch of stuffs, like armors, weapons and potions. She pulled the wyvern's leg out, but she couldn't pull out the whole body.
"See? This is the biggest hole you can make without a circle, or practice."
"I see."
"Now let's move on. We can't stay in one place all day long."
She started to walk forward.
"Okay!"
For the rest of the day there weren't any more problems. In the night they put up two tents and slept in them. Catherine made a few spells around them that would alert them if someone get's close to the camp. They woke up fresh in the morning. There weren't any problems.
They continued their journey to Krishmar.
