Mew meets the war beasts

A few days after Mew had heard about Gengar and his haunting tales, Sora, Shiro, Mew and the others went towards the country of the war beasts.

They talked a lot about wanting to take the 'animal girl' country. Mew could only tilt his head in confusion. Why were animal girls that important? He had beast men in his Garden as well, but he didn't see the appeal of it.

Besides, the beast men race existed not only of women but also of men. Why be so obsessed with girls? Truly a mystery.

Putting those thoughts behind, Mew looked around in curiosity at the japan look a like country. There were even Torii gates built in some places. But to be honest, this place had a more mystic appeal than Japan, as there were all kinds of things that were out of the norm. Likt trees that gave of light as well as the houses that were more like the Edo period style.

While Sora, Shiro and Steph went to the Warbeast leadership to play a game, Mew went sightseeing in the warbeast country.

As he wasn't allowed to help in their game, Mew didn't want to play or watch it. Why go look at something what looks fun, when you can't even play with it?

So Mew did the next most fun thing he could think of: Playing with the Warbeasts.

That said, not many of the warbeasts wanted to play with him as they all kept their distance.

'Why don't they want to play with such a cute and lovable Mew such as I? I don't look scary.'

With these thoughts in mind, Mew discarded playing with the grownups and went to the kids.

The children didn't seem as guarded as the parents, as they gladly allowed Mew to join them. When saying join, it wasn't a game. It was a big fluff-fest of hugging the other while napping. The children had gathered in one of the greenhouses where the temperature was just right and began to nuzzle with the other.

Joining in, Mew began to nuzzle as well (the non-electrical type), fluffing up the tail and ears. The children did the same to Mew, becoming in love with the fine and soft texture of Mew's fur.

Gathering around in a pile, they all nestled close to the other as they made themselves comfortable.

When they were about to fall asleep, a white light came from their chest, revealing the symbol of a pawn from a chess board.

'They really picked the wrong time.'

Mew thought as the kids looked in confusion at their chest.

[Don't worry. The adults are just playing a game.]

Mew said, knowing Sora and Shiro's intentions weren't on enslaving the Warbeasts. It wasn't strange for the Warbeasts to thing of that, as betting a race piece (The pawn symbol for Warbeasts/ the King symbol for Imanity) in a game was tantamount to enslaving the whole race if the piece was lost.

They had most likely figured out they needed the race pieces of every Exceed to play against Tet.

[Let's take a nap. Everything will be over when you wake up.]

Yawning slightly, Mew nestled closer to one of the girls, who followed his lead. Slowly the children relaxed and they all began to fall asleep one after another.

[When they do something untowards, I'll make sure to beat them up, even if it goes against the rules. I'm not from this place after all, tehe~]

Patting the Warbeast girl on the head, Mew began to hum a lullaby he had once heard from Aldos. It was very soothing and he couldn't help but yawn again halfway through, as it made him want to sleep as well.

Not fighting the urge one bit, Mew took out a big blanket from his Garden and covered them all before dozing of.
