Taking up a quest

While spending his time in and around the guild, Mew had taken up residence in one of the guild member communal rooms. Natsu had also passed by once to ask if Mew wanted to help with a quest, a book retrieval one.

Not really interested in such things, Mew gratefully declined as he went on a quest on his own. It was a request to take down some thieves for 160.000 Jewel. Natsu had apparently wanted to take this one, but had something else on his mind around that time.

Mew quickly departed, having a short look at the map on where he should go and left.

The den of thieves was, according to the intel, relatively close to Magnolia, as the they preyed on merchants that came through. In particular one certain merchants company was a consecutive victim of these thieves and he was now once again on the road. Mew had joined the merchant, but he was under the guise of Lucario. He had covered up most of his body, with only his eyes visible.

To not draw any more suspicion that he was already drawing due to his outfit, Mew wore a fox mask. Luckily the merchant didn't question Mew too much when he was notified that he belonged to Fairy tail. He seemed relieved as he took Mew on his trip to Margaret Town, a near Magnolia on the east side of Fiore.

The thieves didn't seem to care about any other people that were traveling with the merchant, as they showed up as soon as the merchants caravan was out of sight of Magnolia.

"Give us everything you've got, otherwise things get messy."

One of the bulkier and more menacing looking of the thieves said, in his hands a ominous looking black staff. The men around him carried things like spiked armored gloves, sickles with a discusting aura and another one who had pitols in his hands.

[No girls... How sad to be a virgin.]

Mew muttered, having heard the lamentations of some of the guild members. So, Mew naturally considered these guys the same. Poor eternal virgins.

"Sir, you can handle them can you?"

The uncertain merchants voice sounded.

Mew nodded as he stepped forward, making the thieves laugh loudly.

"It's just one guy."

The bulky guy said, pointing his staff at Mew.

"Ray of darkness!"

A black ray blasted towards Mew, while the man with the pistols began to shoot at him as well. The other thieves moved towards the merchants caravan, intending to rob it during the fight.

[Ah, I wanted to have more fun, but you don't play fair. Then I won't either.]

Having said so, Mew moved towards the thieves at a incredibly fast pace. He formed a long blue bone in his hands as he smashed it through the attacks and hit the bulky guy on the head.

The man stumbled backwards as he wanted to retaliate, but the staff once again hit his head, this time knocking him out. The gunner looked at Mew in shock at how easy the leader was taken out and began to shoot in a frantic manner, taking no precaution in the case he might hit his partners.

Mew threw the bone towards the gunner, hitting him hard and blasting him backwards, while the bone returned to Mew's hands.

Having dealt with those guys, Mew followed up on the others, incapacitating them as soon as possible.

At the end of it all, the caravan had no damage and the thieves were captured and bound.

"Thank you so much!"

The merchant said, wiping the fright tears from his eyes.

Mew just nodded as he jumped back on the caravan, intending to escort the merchant all the way to Margaret Town.

At least then the merchant could have some peace of heart.
