-Update 4.0: The letting go of your hand-
Yo everyone! Enjoying the game?
After the (shall we say interesting?) events from the competition we believed that now would be an excellent time to release the greatest update yet.
Now if the last update was 3.4, why suddenly to 4.0? Well the changes are quite huge, so we believed a whole new number was necessary.
Now what exactly are the changes? To sum it up, we are letting go of your hand. The game will become much harder, and much more immersive.
Now for the exact changes:
•Purchases will no longer be through a system menu. You will have to physically view the product and hand them the proper amount of money.
•Changes to the current currency system (more info below).
•Skills now require proper casting efforts from the player, and many no longer need vocal casts. (More info below)
•Punishments tweaked for NPC and player killing.
•Major changes to Berserk Skills (more info below)
•Changes to the Adventurers Guild ranking (more below)
•Changes to the inventory system (more info below)
•The Forums will be also disabled during times where the in-game messaging feature is.
•New Event Coming Soon!
Changes to the currency system:
Due to the deep pockets of players, transferring millions of gold would be a troublesome task. So now we are introducing Plates. Plates hold a set value of gold, and are used for high value purchases. This is to make things easier of course.
The value of Plates are as below:
•Silver Plate: 10,000 Gold
•Gold Plate: 100,000 Gold
•Platinum Plate: 1,000,000 Gold
•Crystal Plate: 10,000,000 Gold
•(Please see a bank to have your current gold transferred into your selected Plates)
Moreover there has been some small changes to the value of Gold, you will find some prices higher than usual. This is due to the unexpected amount of money flowing through players, and the ease of obtaining gold.
(That's right! Inflation!)
About the changes to skills:
This is by far our greatest, and most likely soon-to-be most controversial change yet. Usually to cast a skill a player would need to think of the skill name and the needed MP would be used to activate the skill.
Now players must activate the skill by mimicking the usual movements and the usage of MP.
Don't worry however, we are not heartless. There will be a tutorial on how to control your MP that you can visit anytime from the menu. Additionally any skill the player has learned will also have a tutorial.
Additionally every player who passes the MP usage tutorial will be granted the [Mana Control] skill, this will provide additional bonuses and hopefully incite players to learn their mana more effectively.
This will create a temporary dip in player skill level, and may cause outrage. However we do not care! The game is easy to learn, and players are getting arrogant in their strength! Have a taste of reality, if you wish to keep your arrogance then earn it!
About the changes to Berserk Skills:
A massive oversight on our part. Due to the rarity of Berserk Skills we decided to become a little too generous on their effects, and more.
So here are some nerfs to the Berserk Skills:
•Berserk Skills now require a charge before activating, time may vary between levels and Skill effects. This can be interrupted. If it is interrupted then the Berserk Skill cannot be charged again for 30 seconds.
•Double Berserk has been heavily nerfed, before a second Berserk Skill would multiply the current stats of the player. This led to incredible strength that was unnecessary.
-Example: If a player had 100 strength, then used a Berserk Skill that tripled their stats, it would increase to 300. Then used a second Berserk Skill that doubled their current stats, it would rise to 600.
-Now: It will add the multipliers together before affecting your stats. So instead of the double Berserk Skill increasing stats by 6x, it now would only be 5x
-Second Berserk Skills will require additional charge up, this will take more time than the original charge up. If interrupted it will be put on cooldown for 1 minute.
About the changes to the Adventurers Guild:
•Rankings have been heavily adjusted. Players were reaching S rank far too quickly, and haven't even reached level 500.
•Players will have to reevaluate their ranking. Do not be discouraged if it is now E or D ranking. Players will rarely reach C in ranking, and never in B ranking right after the update.
About the changes to the inventory system:
•In short it's too strong.
•Players will be granted a magic bag which can hold any size objects with ease, but is limited to 300 pounds of weight. It will not accept anything once it reaches this limit.
•A player can obtain additional bags at a high price, or upgrade their current with various materials at your nearby Magic Tailor.
And that's all! Due to the massive changes the game will be shutdown for 72 hours before reopening. If you have any issues, please contact our customer support team. Additionally for those who are in important quests or dungeons, you will receive a one-time return token that will send you back to where you were without affecting anything.
We hope you enjoy!
-End-
Travis leaned back in a chair, it was the same as last time. Except the small joke towards the Competition. The changes were written to seem much smaller than they actually were.
The "dip in player skill" was an understatement. The drop would be akin to a cliff. Many would learn how to use a Skill, however implementing it mid-battle was even harder. Players who joined on the release would struggle further, due to them being more accustomed to the old way.
Travis closed out the forum and opened a spreadsheet he had created. It consisted of a well organized list of his targets, along with their "territories". He was no longer going after small targets, he was going to strike the moment the game released.
There would be a brief window, as Guilds rush to have their players learn the new way of fighting all of their territories will remain unprotected.
Additionally more players would want to attempt dungeons to adjust to the new style. If word got out that the player named Dot was preventing Guilds from monopolizing dungeons, then his warning could spread further. Threatening small and mid sized guilds into submission, for fear of angering Dot.
This was why his only targets were the top Guilds. No matter how talented someone is, adjusting to a whole new style of combat would be near impossible. As for him? He already had vast experience in that way of fighting of course.
Travis drank from a bottle of water, he was approaching the time where he had died. He could still taste the betrayal, but no longer thirsted for revenge.
It was pointless. With the power he held now, why bother with trivial things such as revenge?
He had laid a foundation ever so sturdy, it was only skywards from here. His plan of reaching higher strength, to even the playing field for all players. It was coming closer to reality, he simply could not fail this step.
Shutting down his laptop Travis chose to take a walk outside, staying inside for too long was detrimental to his health after all. The three day wait on the new update gave him plenty of time to focus on his real world responsibilities.

"This changes too much. Those who catch on quickly can put our position at risk."
"It's also an opportunity is it not? If we can recruit those who already adjusted. . ."
"If it's an opportunity for us the same goes for our rivals."
"Then what about everything else? We can't guard our territories like this."
"Then hire some NPCs, they ought to stand guard for a few days with the right pay."
"That expenditure could cost millions of gold."
"Losing out territories will cost us more in the future."
"Then I'll see to it once the game opens."
"Good, any other matters?"
"The upper echelons want us to attempt to recruit Six Lights, along with Bakery Basics."
"Puha! They know nothing about Six Lights, those fellows live freely."
"They are aware of your contact with them."
"Just because I can contact them doesn't mean I can recruit them. It's not like I haven't already tried."
"They're insistent on this matter."
"Keeping friendly contact is a much better solution. They do not bend to pressure, nor listen to our recruiting. If we push to hard they will most likely cut us off, I believe that may hurt us in the future."
"Did we not already try to suppress them?"
An embarrassed cough was heard, "A foolish oversight on my part. Luckily they are quite forgiving."
"Then?"
"Ignore those unsightly fools, we shall maintain the same contact with Six Lights. If they have any issues then they can talk to me personally."
"Then that is all sir."
"Good, this update will bring quite some chaos. Let's turn it into our favor."
