Space

Waking up with an aching hand, head, and knees. Feeling confused, she kneeled and looked around. On the floor were blood, sweat, and saliva, maybe. Slowly went to the kitchen to get the mop to clean the floor, then went to the bathroom to wash her face.

"!!!!!!!!" 'What the f****.'

In the mirror, she saw a flawless face. 'Oh my God!!!' Her skin looks white and shiny. Eyes seemed more attractive and her lips were pink, like wearing lip gloss. Her glossy, wavy brown hair was lighter, her nose! Did it seem better? She looked like an actress?! Warmth spread all over her body, especially her head. She moved her face a little closer to the mirror. There was a round dent in between the brows then looked downward.

"!!!!!!!!" Her necklace was gone! She ran back to the room and searched everywhere. In the kitchen, trashcans, inside the fridge, the cupboards, under the bed...gone! She wants to cry, but tears won't come out. Disappointed and heartbroken, she sat on the bed and touched the dent on her forehead. So many things happened today. She was mentally exhausted. 'God, I thank you for the grace, but how nice it would be to bathe in a river or spring right now.'

"Poof!" she disappeared from the room.

Dumbfounded, eyes wide open and her mouth hangs while looking around. She's soaking wet with her clothes on, in the middle of a knee-high river. She stood up, turned around, and saw a small waterfall. Focused her eyes to see the end of the river that seemed endless. Walked for quite some time, trailing the river that doesn't overflow.

"Bam!" "!!!!!!!!" Her head was throbbing with pain again. Rubbing her forehead to ease the pain, and prayed that her brain was still intact. She extended her hands in front and touched what seemed like a blurry, transparent wall. Couldn't walk further, so she turned around to where the waterfall was. Looking at the river, it seems deeper on this side, deep enough to swim. No fish, just glimmering colorful rocks in different shapes and sizes. Halting abruptly when she thought of something.

In the apocalypse, there were many abilities. Common were fire, water, earth, wood, strength, speed and rare like thunder, invisibility and space. Although she has doubts because space abilities were like mobile storage boxes that range from low level, 5x5 meters to the high level legendary size of a football field. Once she heard a rumor that a powerful dual ability user has it.

"!!!!!!!!" It's her space! But how???!" In the apocalypse, she didn't have other powers aside from a 50 sq meter space. Although it wasn't powerful, space users are very important for survival. They can store food, ammo, beds, tents, anything that could be a hindrance while fighting. Wait, she also heard that some had bigger space, nobody can even imagine because they belonged to the military or a powerful clan. Secrets like these are normal for survival and it's also common sense to hide trump cards when fighting. But she never heard of this ability where bodies could enter. Maybe they existed, but it was hidden. Or maybe it appeared after she died. It's not impossible because, like her return is something she never imagined.

She runs and jumps and laughs like a madman. 'Thank God! A miracle!' Touches the dent in between her brows, shaped like...thinks...'Was it my necklace?!!!'

"Jackpot!!!" Turns around and runs again yelling, "I loooove yooouuuu moooom!!!!" She's very happy pondering the possibilities, all the things that can be stored. Can she bring others inside? Plants? Animals? Cars? House? Looks like she had to redo her list and it will be longer this time. Anyway, it's a great thing and has a lot of time to explore. Grinning and breathless, she noticed her body was really weak. Now she's determined to workout and be more flexible. Also needs to learn some defense moves so she can fight better in the future. She can escape to her space in case it's life-threatening but it can't be done openly. Keeping it a secret and only revealing it to her loved ones can she feel secure. 'With so many things to do, so how can I get out....?'

"Poof" she was standing in her room."!!!!!!!!" So thrilled and amazed, she tried it again, a couple of times, but stopped when she felt dizzy. Reaching for her bag, then with a thought, it disappeared. 'Wait, I'll try using only my mind instead of my hands waving like a nut head.' Then the table, chairs. "!!!!!!!" With a thought, she can move objects four meters from her body! 'Niiiicceeee!!!!' It's very useful, but she should still bring a bag as a disguise and also keep in mind the size of the things she pulls out. Feeling drained, returned everything, took a bath, cooked a simple meal, and crawled herself to sleep.

Waking up feeling refreshed, prepared breakfast, and sat on the chair. Looking at the notebook, she had written so many things to buy. Food, ammo, medicine, cars, tents, plants, seeds, beds, etc. She also needs to study how to raise plants and animals. It would be perfect if she had a house inside. While contemplating her thoughts, a bee lands slowly on the budding rose beside her window. "Poof!" the bee vanished and entered her space, happily flying. She took the vase and tossed it inside.

So small insects can enter, this afternoon, her task will be buying a fish and a chick. Then she'll try bigger ones like chicken, ducks, goats, sheep, cows, horses, etc. Dogs and cats will be at the final coz she doesn't have time to take care of them for now.

Holding a basket, she went to the nearest wet market and bought two live fish, a chick and feed. Walked in an alley, looked around, and moved them into space. In her mind, she can see the chick happily running around and the fish swimming in the river. Now that it's certain she can bring animals and plants, the space needs to be divided so they won't run havoc inside.

Bella continued to walk around and saw an old man sitting at the roadside, selling mixed objects. Her attention was on a simple ring with a very small dark blue stone in it. It looks cheap but, she had a nagging feeling that she needs to have it. The ring was 5$, she paid 1000$, took the ring, and ran off. Deep in her heart, she pitied the old man and maybe the others as well. Everything will change and aside from her, nobody knows it. Slowly decreasing her speed, walking aimlessly, she felt lost. What she didn't know was the man shed tears but was smiling, silently thanking her.

Sometimes she felt naïve, wishing to save many people but protecting her loved ones at the same time. How can she do it? Even in the past, she was powerless. In the future, people can kill even for a small piece of bread. Because she trusted the wrong people, she was betrayed and killed. She witnessed many unimaginable, horrible things. Can this life be better? What about those people who wouldn't wake up anymore because they will become lifeless beings?

But still, from the moment she discovered this space, it felt like there was hope for humanity. Or maybe hope that her real family is still alive, that she won't be alone anymore. No, she must grow stronger. Strong to protect herself and her loved ones. Although many can't be saved, she'll do what she can, but not at the expense of her life. Selfish? Hypocrite? Maybe, because she cherishes this second chance. It doesn't matter anymore. What's important is right now, this is what she wants to do.

Bella went to the bookstore and bought all the books she could think of: farming, medical, animal raising, mangas, novels, science, carpentry, architecture, etc. Also, a bunch of papers, pens, and notebooks then asked to be delivered to her apartment. After eating in a stall, she went home.

Surfing the net, picked two warehouses for rent. Here she can stock the food and goods that would be delivered. Can't make them disappear in front of everybody, so this must be done carefully. She's planning to invite her best friend in the following days, call Uncle Belden tonight, and also needs to search for the houses she can move. Does she want to bring more people? Of course, but this time will choose wisely because this treasure could get her killed. If it could save lives, why not? But she will be the queen in her land!!! As for the Chen family, 'ehem' will think about it in the future. For now, shopping!

In the afternoon, they delivered all the things she ordered from the bookstore. It filled her apartment, and it was hard to walk. When they were gone, sent them all into her space. Wait, she needs shelves and cabinets since there's only soil in the space. Facepalmed and then went online to order them. Could she bring in a whole warehouse? Nahh, this would arouse suspicions if a building suddenly vanished. Dunno if it's even possible? 'If only I could have a separate space for these things…' Unexpectedly she felt an excruciating pain between her brows. She stood up dizzily and tried reaching for her bed. The ring on her finger glowed and she collapsed on the floor.
