JENNIE's POV
"Lisa was so hard to please!"
"Bitch you ain't pleasing her, you're harassing her." Jisoo retorts while shaking her head.
"You're literally cutting her rights, was that your plan?" Sana chimes in.
"It was cute and all because Lisa seems doesn't have the will to complain but Jen, you're taking it too far." Chaeyoung added which cause me to creased my brows and whipped my head towards them.
"Which side are y'all on?" I asked cynically.
"Yours." They answered in unison.
"But your way of making her to fall into your trap was way too ridiculous." Jisoo added.
"She's right." Sana and Chaeyoung agreed while pointing at Jisoo. As if she just had said the most perfect words to describe my way to make Lisa fall for me.
"Ok then, let's say it's ridiculous. Can y'all come up with a better idea?" I asked challengingly and crossed my arms, looking at them with my intimidating look.
Sana snaps her fingers and stood up from the couch. "I have a better idea–."
"If seducing Lisa, no. Not gonna happen." I immediately cut off. Sana pouts and sit back down.
"How about–."
"No, that's more likely absurd than Sana's idea, kidnapping Lisa is way too dumb." I then cut off Jisoo as well just before she could spit her plan and look at the last vampire.
"Why don't you just be you, Jen?" Chaeyoung uttered softly.
"What do you mean just be me? Do I have to show her my fangs?"
"That's not what I'm talking about, I mean. Try to be more friendly and cute?"
"What? Me? Cute?" I snort a laugh sarcastically and look at her in disbelief while pointing at myself. "We'll go to Sana's idea."
"I knew that my idea is much better than the two of you." Sana mocked them while giggling giddily. "So here's the plan–."
"Nah, I have my own ways Sana. I'm never going to wear those cringe worthy heels and tube dress that you were hiding in your closet."
"Hey! Those are my precious babies!"
We all looked at her ludicrously, I have never seen a person calling her sexy clothes her babies, heels? Maybe yes, but a fucking body hugging tube dress? Nah-uh! I don't really understand Sana sometimes.
"Do we still have blood?" I asked to advert our topic onto the other things, I really don't want them to know how will I seduce Lisa, if acting like a damn girlfriend isn't working for her then I'll use my seductive body to get her. But for a nerd? Lisa is really hard to get and in all fairness, even though there's this girl who just confessed at her, it seems not a big deal for her. If I wasn't there, for sure Lisa would say yes. I can see how her eyes formed into a heart eyes while she was looking at the girl. What's her name again? I'm not really interested at her that's why I couldn't remember her name, but one thing is for sure. She's so fucking tall, like I was just half of her, what more Jisoo. Psh! I bet she's just above her knee.
"You seriously need to stop drinking mortal blood Jen." Chaeyoung said to snap me from my reverie, lips stretching while eyeing Jisoo.
"I hate that smile of yours and I really hate how you can hide your thought from us." Jisoo utter irritatedly when she darts up her gaze at me and noticed how I stared at her while grinning because of this hilarious scene on my mind.
"Have you ever stand beside that girl?" I asked instead and ignore her remarks.
"Who's girl?" She asked confused.
"Aira, that tall girl."
"Oh, you mean Lisa's tall and gorgeous admirer." There's a glint of sarcasm on her voice which cause me to frown. "I never did but I just noticed that they look good together."
"Shut up!" I hissed at her. "Are you telling me that we're not?!" The table had flipped now, not literally tho, but the fact that I'm the one who got pissed off now instead of her makes me want to slap that Aira!
"No, I'm telling that–."
"You're telling her that you found her gorgeous, really Jisoo? In front of me?" Chaeyoung chimes in before standing up abruptly and walked out hastily but before that, she hit Jisoo's face with throw pillow.
"Hey babe wait– that's not– fuck!" Jisoo cursed and snapped her head at me. "I hate you!"
"No you don't." I said smiling at her.
"You'll sleep on the couch tonight!" Chaeyoung shouted from upstairs. Jisoo's eyes widened and look at me in horror, she was about to open her mouth but I beaten her to it.
"Now you do." I said before running upstairs while laughing triumphantly.
"Yah! Jennie fucking Zee!"
–
The first thing that happens in the morning when I stepped in inside the room was very rudely and irritatedly from my insight. I was just late for ten seconds when Lisa entered the room because I had to paused from walking to look back at Jisoo who was walking groggily on my back for a funniest reason. Chaeyoung didn't let her in inside their room the whole night and she was just phone calling small Chaeyoung. The girl that Jisoo had felt jealous multiple times way back to our kingdom.
"What's going on?" I asked to no one in particular when I saw Lisa crouching on the floor while Aira is helping her, Sydney shoving a dude on the corner and ready to beat the hell out of him. They all stopped and whipped their heads at me. "I'm asking what the hell is going on?" I repeated when no one dared to open their damn mouth. My gaze shifted to the man that's been holding by Sydney. "Who are you?" I asked again, because as far as I remember, I haven't seen him before, he's not one of our classmates or I just don't really give a fuck to any mortal. The irritation starts to irk me as no one still open their mouths to answer my damn question. My gaze shifted back from the guy to Lisa when she finally stands up and my eyes squint when I saw the blood dripping down from the corner of her lips and cracked eyeglass. "What the fucking fuck."
"Look, I'm f-fine—." I didn't let Lisa to finish her words when I whipped my head onto the guy that I could almost hear the airwaves that it produced for how hasty it was.
"You hurt her?" I asked venomously, as if he had no choice but to answer.
"S-she was t-trying to be cool and edgy because Aira–."
"I don't give a damn for your reason, I'm asking you if you hurt Lisa!"
"Yes!" He admits.
"Oh boy, you just dig your own grave." Sydney mumbles and let him go. I rubbed my right eye before raking my fingers on my hair and shook my head after. I pad towards the bastard slowly while looking at him.
"Jen, no. He might—." Lisa tried to stopped me but just like yesterday, I gave her the look to shut her up and she did, she retreated and hide behind Aira.
"Do you know who the woman you were harmed was?" I asked the guy who's now looking at me confusedly.
"She's—." His answer were cut off with a loud slap coming from me, garnering a loud gasp from all the audience.
"Yes, she's Lisa." I answered for him. "Do you know what I do to people who hurt her?" I asked again before slapping him once again when he tries to stands up from the floor, but the second slap was harder than the previous one and it caused him to kiss the floor for the second time. I picked him up, pulling fistful of his hair and tip back his head so our eyes can meet, I saw the anger on his eyes because of humiliation at the same time the fear, but I don't give a damn. He should've been more thankful because I don't have plans sucking his blood. "You hurt her because of that slut?" I whispered right on his face. "That was so rude of you, she's a woman."
"But she's flirting with Aira!"
I let go of his hair and bend over, wiped the blood on his face and smirk at him. "She's not flirting with that slut, it's the other way around. Now I want you to bend on your knees in front of Lisa and ask for forgiveness."
"W-what?" He almost laugh the word's out but when he stared at my orbs, I know he saw how serious I am for what I've asked him to do. "Are y-you serious?"
"Oh you bet I do, now go." I said and stopped from wiping the blood on his face when I felt a pair of arms holding my shoulder.
"That's enough Jen." Jisoo said and pulled me up. I looked over my shoulder to look at her and smiled before shifting my gaze on her back and saw that Aira wiping Lisa's face and the latter is letting her.
"Imbecile!" I hiss past through my teethand storms towards them to grab Lisa's arm and drag her in front of the guy. "Now ask for her forgiveness."
"W-what? No, it's unnecessary." Lisa whines but I ignore her and glared at the guy.
"S-sorry." The guy uttered softly while bending on his knees. "I'm sorry for punching you Lisa."
"Hey d-don't. It's ok, don't worry about it."
"You're lucky Lisa was such a dumb for forgiving you easily, because if I were her, I would've punch you until you lose your teeth." I scowled and drag Lisa away. I don't care if our professor just got in and he was asking who's the dude and where are we going, I know Jisoo can take care of it, I just need to clear everything to Lisa once and for all, because seeing how they flirt behind my back was really disrespectful to me and I'm not having any of these mortal's bullshits for hurting her just like that, not because she's too damn nice, they can do whatever they like at her freely.
"Hey, where are we going? The class was about to start!"
"Shut the fuck up and just follow me!" I scorned. I kicked the emergency exit door and we walked upstairs up until to the top floor which is the rooftop. When we stepped out from the door, I let go off of her arm and turn facing her. "What was that?" I started.
"What?"
"That?!"
"I don't know okay? When I stepped in, he storms on me and punch me."
"Why do you think he did that?!"
"I don't know Jen! I don't have any fucking idea!" She was frustrated as much as I am. "I don't know why those people hate me, when I haven't done anything wrong." The sudden shifts on her voice makes me want to kill the guy. The pain on her voice was so visible and the anger that built inside me slowly dissipated. I wasn't really the heart-stoned woman like they were saying, I can still feel empathy because Dad taught me to be more insensitive for other feelings. But I admit that sometimes, I forget what he taught me because of my ego, my pride and my will to get what I want, by hook or by crook.
I was really engrossed in my daze that I haven't noticed her walked near the fence while looking down, if it wasn't for her lungful sigh. "They hate me, they all hate me even I did nothing wrong."
"That's the problem with you." I said and makes my way to the bench on behind her and sat down. "That guy from earlier? He doesn't hate you, he just hate the fact that Aira likes you instead of him."
"Look, I'm not the one with the problem, it's the world that seems to have a problem with me, people will take one look and they go 'ew a nerd, a stupid nerd. Let's bully her because she's stupid'. They judge me before they even know me, that's why I'm better off alone and Aira was not an exception just because she confessed."
Was that a script from Kung fu Panda?
"You talked like Sydney wasn't on your side all these years to protect you." I scoffed.
"Exactly, she always got into trouble because of me and then you came, and what you did earlier, it will only cause people to hate me more." She sounds like it's going to be my fault if she gets more hate when all my intention was to get a revenge for her. She was hurt, what does she expect me to do? Let the guy slip for what he did to my future wife? No fucking way. And yes, I already accepted that she's going to be my wife, not because I starts liking her, I was just accepting my fate with her. That's why I said 'my future wife'.
"Why are you letting people hurt you?"
"It's better that way so they will eventually stop when they realize that I'm not fighting back and it's getting boring."
"You clearly know that it's not the way how it work, right? People will bully you because you're not fighting back, it will easy for them to continue what they were doing because they know that you'll let them." I don't know why or when I started talking at her casually, is this also my dad felt when he was talking at Lisa way back then? Because we're not really used to talked to mortal, well she's not really totally a mortal because she has a vampire blood running on her veins, but still, she doesn't have any idea about her identity so I can still treat her as a mortal.
"I know, but what can I do? I can't fight back." She breathes out and sigh softly. She turn around to face me, back resting at the fence, both elbows resting on it while looking at me as if she wants to say something or ask but she's hesitant, she let out a deep sigh and scrunched her nose up. "Can I ask you a question?"
"You already did, but shoot." I replied cooly.
"Why are you suddenly acting weird?" I don't know if I should get mad for the word she chose for describing how I act nowadays or I will get shocked because she already have the courage to ask me regards to that matter. "It's ok if you don't want to answer me, it's just that, you're confusing me because at first minute you act like you hate me and then the next minute, you were acting like you were my girlfriend, a possessive one if I must add and then now, you did the vengeance for me when I didn't ask for you to do that."
If it wasn't for Marco's challenge, I would've been told her the reason behind my actions.
"Like what I've told you last time, I want to know you well."
"Why me? Why of all people inside this campus, why me?"
"Because.." I paused and bit my tongue to stop myself from spilling out the truth and dart my eyes behind her. "..I just want to."
She chuckled bitterly and ran her fingers on her hair multiple times without touching her bangs. "I'm not worth to know Jen."
Oh God! If you only knew. You're much worthy than me, the King's daughter, than Sana who can heal your mom in an instant, than Jisoo who did nothing but to banter with me, than Chaeyoung who already saw a glint of our future together but she was so selfish to share it. You are!
"Then I'm going to find your worth." I said sincerely as I stood up and pad towards her. "You might found yourself unworthy but for the people around you, you're a gem."
"You're just saying that to ease my heart." She chuckled.
"I'm saying this because it's the truth Lisa, you might think that you're a hopeless stupid nerd–."
"Ouch Jen." She scoffed while acting like she was offended by my words but contrary of the small smile on her face.
"Shut up." I rolled my eyes and swings on her side and copied her position. "But seriously Lis, you are worthy enough to be with but I'm not saying that you're allowed to talk to other girls because you're still not."
"How will I have a girlfriend if I'm not allowed to talk to them?"
The melancholy on her voice earlier because of her rants was long gone now and the only thing I noticed was the playfulness on it. I side glanced her and scoffed and turn a bit to face her.
"Soon Lisa, you'll have one and it's more than a girlfriend."
"What do you mean?" Her eyebrows shoot up, she looks really confused.
"I mean you'll have one after we become friends, maybe, just maybe I let you look for one but not until we know each other well."
Lisa chuckled and tip back her head to look at the clear sky, a soft sigh escaped from her plump lips and a faint smile slowly curved on it. "I've never talked to anyone like this before aside from Sydney and you made it easier like we were doing this for a long time."
I side glanced her and snort. "You like me that's why." I confidently said.
"Wow, so full of yourself ey?"
"Who wouldn't like me? I'm so dead gorgeous." I said cockily, hands crossing across my chest.
I didn't heard any sarcastic remarks from her like I was expecting to, instead, she was looking in front of her, to nothingness, it's as if she was on her own daze. This is one of those reasons I'm really curious about her, I can't read her mind, I don't know what's running inside her head, that's why I really want to know her well.
If we're going to get married someday, I need—at least, a little idea of what she's thinking or what's inside her tiny head. Because first, I'm not a mind reader nor some physic shit to read her, second, I'm not Chaeyoung who can see what's bound to happen and third, she's going to be my wife, my significant other, so we better to have a good communication if we want to stay for the rest of our lives together— oh God, I think I went too far?
But will she accept her fate? Will she accept that she's a vampire and her soon to be wife is a vampire princess? Will she go with me, back to the kingdom and leave her mortal parents? Will she be ready to face the life surrounded by supernatural beings? I bet she'll faint.
"I thought, the weirdest thing that ever happen to my life was when I encountered a vampire when I was a kid, but no." She tilt her head to my side and flashed her radiant smile, the smile that I've seen for the first time from her. "It's you and your will to know me, is the weirdest."
I blink away the amusement on my face while staring at her dark chocolate orbs. "Just be thankful that a gorgeous woman like me wanted to be your friend."
"Exactly Jen, you're gorgeous and I'm just a nerd–."
"Would you stop saying you're just a nerd? You're a big stupid nerd but you're my nerd and you're going to be my forever nerd!" My widened eyes dart up to her, amusement flooding her face. I mentally slap my face for what I had spouts, sworn myself multiple times and I swore that this is the first time in my hundred years of existence that I felt embarrassed. I can feel my cheeks heating up and the blush seeps through me as I can feel her heavy gaze at me.
She chuckled and a hand patted my head softly. "You're so cute Jennie, but no, no one's own me, not even Aira, you and anyone else. Because there's a thing you didn't want to know about me."
"Tell me, so I can judge it for myself." I stand straight and look at her sternly, hoping to masks the blush that appears on me.
"Nah, not a single chance that I'm going to tell you."
"Try me Lisa."
She heaved a deep breath and exhales, the amusement on her face dissipates along with her sigh and she look at me, straight to my brown eyes; straight to my soul, as if she can see what's inside me, her gaze pierces through me as if she was trying to hypnotize me, and in between us? I am the one who can feel the power she was holding behind those dark chocolate orbs.
The corner of her lips curved to form a sinful smirk. "I'm a vampire Jen, I could suck all of your blood, right here, right now. And even if you scream for help, no one's gonna make it to help you before I could drink all of your sweet blood."
"W-what?" My eyes widened at what she reveals, my lungs seem to stutter, as if it knocked every wisp of air inside me. My brain became fuzzy for a moment and my chest take in more breathe than I expected, every part of me goes on pause while my thoughts catch up, mouth opening and shutting like a goldfish with no sound coming out.
And then suddenly, her smirk grew wider and the sound of her smile turn into a loud and obnoxious laugh. "I was just kidding! Oh my God! You really thought that I'm a vampire? Vampires doesn't exist nowadays Ruby Jane!"
"You're a fucking asshole do you know that?! And for your information, Vampires do exist up till now, wanna see one?" I hissed at her and took step backward. She stopped from laughing and turn her face to me in surprise before raising her left brow.
"Nah, never want to encounter another creepy shit. Once is already enough."
I pursed my lips into a thin line to keep what's left of my composure and sigh through my nose. "I can't believe you had this side of yours, I guess I had to learn a lot of things about you."
"And you're just starting Jennie Zee."
I shook my head in disbelief before sighing exasperatedly. I guess, Sana's plan doesn't need at all. Or it will only use when she turns 20– which is three months from now, but still doesn't like to be with me. If I had to use all of my charms, I'll do.
