The Friend

After they get the food the two find a table outside and sit down to eat. Luck got the cheapest sandwiches which most people don't really eat, however the girl seems just as satisfied as Luck with this.

"Sorry, I never introduced myself. I'm Luck"

"Jade"

She says as she digs into her sandwich. Luck sees her "tumbling boulder" band shirt and lights up.

"You listen to tumbling boulders too?"

Her face lights up,

"Yeah I know they're pretty old but honestly I think there music is the best!"

After saying this she seems to get a bit flustered she looks back at Luck.

"Hey I don't think I've seen around before do u live around here?"

Luck takes a bite before responding

"I live pretty close to here just stoped by on my way home from...work"

Not his smoothest lie but Jade seemed to be more curious than suspicious.

"You have a job, but u look my age? What about school?"

Luck shrugs

"Somethings just aren't meant to be...."

Jade clearly isn't satisfied with the answer but before she can pry anymore Luck scarfs his sand which and waves her good bye as he takes off. As he walks away he sighs,

"I need to get better at lying if anyone finds out what I really do I could be killed or worse"

he thinks as he returns home. As he walks through the city many screens blare ads and commercial for anything and everything u can imagine for the right price. Luck has gotten used to tuning them out for the most part but one in particular always catches his eye.

"Hello to all my followers and supporters I am pleased to announce the expansion of three new stores just this week in this booming city! For your convenience..."

The man continues in his sharp suit and warm smile to tell of his great expansion into the city. Luck makes a fist as his gaze sharpens to one of anger and hatred.

... as it is our pleasure at Buymart to meet out customers need and make the experience most convent for them. With that this is Buymart CEO Mark Knight wishing you all a good night."

The screen cuts to something else and Luck snaps out of his trance returning home for the night.
