As he distributed his 4 stat points equally he wondered why Benjamin made him distribute the stats equally, maybe because if you lack any of these below some level you would have a hard time leveling in the future, but I don't get why I have to give one point to intelligence too, none of my skills use any mana anyways, do short range fighters use a lot of mana, I don't think so. Whatever I trust him so I'll just keep distributing it like this I guess.
As he pondered about these issues he was also going forward on the road to hopefully find the goblin settlement. He kept on going and hunting 5 to 8 goblins at a time, the more he killed the more he would find the next time and after an 6 hour kill parade he realized he had killed over 200 of these goblins and the numbers didn't seem to be dwindling just as he was about to call it a day and go back he finally saw the settlement of the goblins, wait is that orcs too, so this place doesn't only have goblins they also have orcs to monitor the goblins I see. He went to a hidden area and started to watch the settlement, the goblins sometimes tried to slack off, but the orcs weren't really forgiving beings, they would whip the goblins whenever they tried to slack off, and when the same goblins tried to slack of again and again they would kill off the goblin and throw them at pits that they made the goblins dig.
David saw that there was a group of 20 goblins leaving the settlement and heading towards the road he had come from, He guessed that they were coming to see what had happened to the other goblins that kept getting lost and not coming back not only were there 20 goblins there was also an orc coming together with them to make sure they weren't running away from the orcs. As David saw this a devious plan started creeping in his head, if he could make it so the goblins believed the other goblins had ran away then the goblins would probably attack the orc and he would get pretty free kills out of this.
As this plan hatched he started to run back to all the places that he had killed goblins at and started moving their bodies at least a few hundred meters away from the road, trying to not leave any marks around the road. After he was done moving the bodies he went back the same way to see if this would be enough to make the goblins attack the orc, after 20 minutes of running carefully, he slowed down because he heard noises of conflict, and realized that these goblins were way stupider than he had imagined, after a few kilometers of not seeing any other goblins they had decided that the other goblins had ran away, and attacked the orc, this made David kind of sad because he went back and placed all the bodies away from the road and these fuckers didn't even come a fourth of the way until they attacked the orc.
Still David wasn't about to miss this chance, 6 goblins were dead and the orc was about dying when he came to the scene of fight. He ran as fast as he could to kill-steal the orc to see how much exp he would gain. He activated sprint and ran and luckily he was able to reach the orc before its death.
As the punch landed on the orc from behind, the feeling of the rebound was way different than when he punched goblins, the orc felt way more solid than the goblins, after the punch connected he heard a ding which meant that this one orc was able to get him from level 22 %44 all the way up to level 23 which was a lot of exp, he would need to kill at least 10-15 goblins for that amount of exp.
he realized he didn't really have time to think about all this when he saw a club coming towards his head. He realized he had no time to dodge the attack so he just used his sidestep and kept attacking the goblins right after he took a total of 90 points of damage from 2 attacks that managed to land on him from the whole group of 14 goblins.
after moving the goblin bodies away from the road he decided to leave the orc body in the road so the next group to come would also attack and kill the orc that was monitoring them. He went back to the settlement to watch what they would do about the group not coming back, he waited for a total of 4 hours sitting in some bush for them to send a group so he can hunt them down.
His 4 hours of waiting paid off when he saw a huge group being assembled, a total of 50 goblins, and 10 orcs was going out, if there was a fight between the orcs and the goblins the orcs would crush the goblins not even one would die probably, well that was without the help of David.
As he watched from a safe distance, the group found the orc body and as they did find the body, the orcs started spewing orders to goblins behind them, at first a few of the goblins were scared and almost did what the orcs asked them for but some other goins stopped them and the fight escalated pretty quickly from that moment on. The goblins were the first to jump on the orcs, they managed to kill one of the orcs without any casualties but that was the only positive that was going for them as they started dropping like flies in a vacuum chamber one after the other, David didn't wait too long to join the fray as he came from behind he managed to kill one of the orcs that was in a bad situation and started punching the other orcs too.
Unlucky for him, the goblins lasted shorter than he imagined so now he had to face three orcs on his own, he thought two would be fine but three would be a bit of a stretch, still he didn't really have any choice on the matter. He kept dodging attacks but he was unable to get any hits in because the orcs were coordinating their attacks, if he wanted to land a punch he had to take damage. After a few more minutes of not being able to do anything, he just said fuck it and traded blows to see the damage he would take and attacked the orc he had already punched before. As the punch landed because of all the effects, the orc was really low on hp and the dot would be enough to kill the orc, however he had also taken a hit from the mace of one of the orcs, which did about 300 points of damage. David went back to the dodging game for a few more seconds to wait until the death of the orc he had just attacked. The orc died after 4-5 attacks and David finally had a breather he had to focus so much on the dodge that his head was hurting.
The situation had changed from when there was three orcs, now David was able to land a strike every once in a while and the fight didn't go on for a long time after that, David landed 2 to 3 punches on the orcs and the orcs died. Of course David had to dodge a lot of attacks but after the third orc died things became not that hard, he was really fast anyways.
After the last kill he didn't hear a ding and was scared for a moment that he didn't level up to level 24 however when he opened his character sheet he was level 24 at 57%, heaving a sigh of relief that he could level up fast he went back to his guerrilla tactics, he attacked waited attacked and kept fighting. After a few more hours he was already level 36 and decided to go back for the day.
He went back to the inn and din't see Benjamin anywhere, he couldn't be bothered to find him though as he was starving right now. He ordered some food ate it and went to Benjamins room to see if he was on his room. He knocked on the door.
"Come in kid, so how was your first day hunting orcs and goblins, did you manage to kill a lot of them, I'm assuming you did considering your past and current strength. Are you able to one punch orcs yet?"(Benjamin)
After getting bombarded with words by Benjamin, David was finally able to answer his question.
"Yeah actually I was, the last kill of the day was a one punch but it was one of the lowest leveled orcs I fought, still it was really empowering to be able to one shot the creatures that would have given me a hard fucking time a day or two before. How much time do we have, I don't think this cleaning will take any longer than 4-5 days even though the number of orcs and goblins are way higher than we have guessed."(David)
"I don't think we have that much time, try to cut it down to 2 more days, if we stay any longer, the news would reach other places, it might be dangerous"(Benjamin)
After hearing this, David steeled his resolve to work extra hard the following day. He went back to his room and slept early.
